I recently went to the doctor and she said it looked like I had a herpal infection but she had to send the sample to a lab. In the meantime she gave me Acyclovir to take. I know that it was my boyfriend that had to have given me something because he's the only one that cheated and it was recent. However, he just went to the doctor to get tested but he hasn't shown any symptoms! How can that be? Is it possible that he could give me this and he not get it? Maybe it isn't herpes after all? Somebody please help if you know any of the answers I'm so desperate to find out what's happening here. You can e-mail me at marirules@optonline.net

First off if he had cheated, he must have had some type of out break or rash or something for him to have given it to you... The first outbreak is when the herpes virus multiplies... Otherwise it would remain dormant... There has been cases where the herpes virus has no sypthoms, some people live with the herpes virus their entire life and never show any sypthoms of it... That is however extremly rare... When the virus is dormint it is very hard for him to give it to you, however its not impossible, and alot of people without sypthoms go on to spread the virus to others un-knowingly... You say he got tested for herpes... Well you cant get tested for herpes unless you have open sores sweet heart... If your boyfriend has no sypthoms than the test will always come back negative because the virus is dormint, in-active... I know it's tough, I went through the same thing, I've done hours upon hours of reading, talked to many docters, luckily in the end I did come out clean... If you need support or have any questions feel free to respond to my e-mail, good luck, and keep in mind that someone's always watching over you...

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
