HELP...worried I transmitted from a cold sore

Does anyone know anything about the type of herpes transmitted from a cold sore? How bad of a thing is it and will it ruin both of our lives. I have a recurring cold sore on my lip for about 15 years. The last time I had an outbreak was over a year ago. A couple of weeks ago we had oral sex and the next day this cold sore started in the same spot as always. I didn't think anything about it at the time and a couple of days ago the guy told me he thinks I may have given him herpes on his genitals. He seems really mad about it but I had no idea that I had the cold sore. I didn't even know that it could be transmitted that way until I started looking things up online. For several reasons we haven't been able to talk to each other since our first conversation about this whole thing. This is a person that I have true love feelings for and thought it was the same with him and now I am worried this will ruin our relationship. I am so sick about it I can't even eat and all I want to do is sleep.

Yea...

Sorry to hear that, by now I'm sure you know that the herpes virus 1 and 2 can be transmited through oral sex.... If you did have an outbreak the next day, that means the virus was already multiplying the couple days before you engaged in oral sex on the surface of your skin... My heart truely goes out to yours, I hope everything goes ok with your relationship and your boyfriend understands what your going through... It's not your fault.... I'm if you ever need support...

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
