Riddle me this...

Batmen and women....

WHY am I now having multiple outbreaks, one on top of another?

Seriously, I went months with no outbreak and now I am having them one after another, with only a week of respite in between. I am not doing peanuts or almonds...no more oatmeal....haven't had any caffeine (until TODAY and the outbreak was already on its way here. so fuck it.) taking my lysine.

It is so frustrating. Years of no outbreaks and now this. What else can I do? (and no no no to valtrex and acyclovir...as you all know from previous posts, that shit didn't work for me and in the case of acyclovir, made my situation WORSE.)

I am beside myself. Nothing seems to work anylonger. Is the disease now stronger than me. Is my immune system going kaput? I know my sex life is kaput. (I am too afraid to have sex, even between outbreaks, because they follow too close together, I could be shedding, and I do not trust condoms 100%, as THEY are not 100% trustworthy.) Could weight GAIN cause more outbreaks. (in which case I am going to become an anorexic or something equally exciting....if food causes this much of a problem, then why eat other than for basic sustenance on a most cavewoman level...meaning, I will eat meat alone, and nothing else.)

I was so happy last week when my last outbreak was done. It was a pretty bad one. Now this. I wish I knew why this was happening.

to add fuel to the fire, I have broken out in some gnarly acne to boot. Like the crap you get in high school or something. Maybe I am going through puberty again. he he he.

So...broken out, ugly acne face, and broken out, herpes infested hoo hoo. What a sight I am! hahaha.

Any ideas? Anyone, anyone?

Ouch,

 Sorry you're having such a difficult time, it sounds terrible. The acne sparked something in my head-- dehyration.. The whole reason to avoid caffeine when one has HSV is because of its diuretic properties, (which means it increases urine flow and dehydration). Acne is known to pop up on occasion when one is dehydrated. Do you drink at LEAST 8 glasses (64 fld. oz.) of water a day? Herpes can be aggrivated by dehydration. If I slip and have a coffee ( I love the way caffeine feels), I make sure I add another 3 glasses to my 8 glass regiment b/c caffeine truly does dry out your body. ~belladonna

that is a good idea (to add MORE water if I do drink caffeine).

I drink alot, but perhaps I have not been drinking enough, especially with it being summer time and all that.

the funny thing is....for a month I decided...no more sodas, waters only, no caffeine, no this that and the ohter....and then I get these bad outbreaks!!! hahahaha! can't win, eh?

I am wondering if it is a hormonal surge. I use to be on the pill and I never had outbreaks then either. Now that I am not on the pill (still nursing, bad for baby!) it seems that I DO have these rotten outbreaks all the time. hmmmmm...anyone else have this happen? The Pill make thigns better? Worse?

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us

To give everyone confidence that it wasn’t herpes related and conclude as the doctor did that it was a dermatitis issue to refer back to the dermatologist to continue with investigations.

Both a dermatologist and infectious disease doctor prescribed him HSV medicine. Why would they do that if this isnt "what herpes really does"?
