Feeling better...

Recommended Posts

I was just diagnosed literally a few hours ago and cried my eyes out. Something like this could NEVER happen to me I thought. About 1 1/2 weeks ago I had protected sex with a guy I've been kind of talking to. He lives in another state not too far away. Anyway I started having burning and pain down there so badly to the point I had to see a doctor. I thought I had an allergic reaction to latex condoms. Wrong. I guess the friction put stress down there causing an outbreak. I tried to think of the last time I had unprotected sex and it was probably a few weeks before. I'm guessing that guy gave it to me but has no idea he has it.

This first outbreak was TERRIBLE, but luckily I felt no more pain and all sores except 1 were gone in a matter of 4-5 days with Acyclovir.

Anyway I've been seeing another man on and off for almost a year and he was the first and only one I told today. He totally still accepts me and even researched about it with me online. He is the guy I'm choosing to stay with and only with him. He even comforted me on the phone today while I cried my eyes out.

It feels so good to see I'm not the only one with it. I had no idea it was so common!

Anyway Im rambling, but I feel so much better already about my diagnosis.

ANd it has really opened my eyes and changed my views on my sexual health. Im staying monogamous from now on.

You can get herpes while having protected sex. All the men you have been with recently need to get tested. One of them obviously does not know they have it, or just did not tell you.

Come to the "Chat Room", there you will find many nice fellow Herpsters who can offer you their support!

Good luck!

Yes, I agree. You need to find out who gave it to you so they won't be able to pass it around anymore. And good for you for having a monogomous thought pattern. When I first heard, I thought I was going to have to be a nun! lol
