How do we live a normal life when everything is no longer normal?

Recommended Posts

Like many others here, I am very confused. Husband had culture done last week that came back negative and has to have blood work done in 8 weeks. In the meantime, we are both very confused, not sure how to protect one another, and unsure how to live a "normal" life.... :(

You certainly can live a normal life with this, I know, I have. I have met other married individuals who have been married decades and their spouse never got it. Even if you husband does come back positive, it is no big deal. It is a virus nothing more. The flu virus kills 30,000 people a year, so next to that this is nothing.

Has your husband ever had mono, chicken pox or a cold sore? If so, he has herpes. All those are caused by the herpes virus.

And if he does not have this, then there is a very good chance he will never get it. Check out this article on transmission rates and you will see it is not that easy to transmit:

Come to the "Chat Room", there you will find many nice fellow Herpsters who can offer you their support.

Good luck!
