One week after having sex (intercourse and he went down on me) with this guy, I got a low grade fever (99.5) and aches and alot of vaginal swelling and burning, and then one little dot pimple on each butt cheek that went away within 24 hours. Two weeks later, same thing. Burning and inflamation never really went way. On the first occasion, the Doctor cultured the pimple thing and it was negative, and said it didn't look like I had herpes (but everything I am reading says you don't have to have blisters). I went ahead and had the blood test anyway and waiting to hear but that may not mean anything. Also had clymdia and gonorea test and they were neg. I was treated the first time for yeast, in case, and then again the second time with another yeast pill, and I am on Flagyl in case of something else. Tried zovirax cream and that didn't help burning. So now it has been 3 full weeks and I have this sore throat with white dots on my tonsils and a fever. A girlfriend has the same thing on her throat so it is totally confusing me. I am going insane. How long until this vaginal burning goes away? I thought it was only with blisters to burn?

Ok, I am just adding to what I wrote. I still have alot of swelling vaginally and burning. This is week 4. My throat is supposedly bacterial tonsilitis according to my 5th doctor visit which is what my girlfriend had. This new doctor also cultured my throat and vaginally for more stuff. (No visible sores though) So, I am waiting on all these tests and have already been on difluctan, monistat, flagyl, fungal creams, zovirax cream, and now ceflex for the throat. Nothing helps below. Doesn't look good. To anyone who has ever found out it is not herpes, WHAT HAS IT BEEN?

You know what, I come out here all the time to help ppl... I see alot of people reading other ppls problems yet never responding... It's starting to piss me off how people don't open up their thoughts and ideas to help others in need out.... Why even fucking come on here if your not going to respond to ppl in pain.... This is exactly why a cure is so far away for this fucking disease... People not bringing their thoughts and ideas together.... This is the shit that drives me right off the fucken edge.... Sorry I had to say that to ppl....

Hey listen, I honestly dont think you have herpes.... What it sounds like is exactly what your 5th doctor said.... The herpes virus is really aggressive, and you should see something down there... What you've described on your butt were pimples ;) The only reason you descovered them was because you were so paranoid you checked your entire body for rashes or anything you could find that was not normal.... 2nd off the herpes attack wont last 4 full weeks... People usually begin to see rashes, blisters, or a bunch of pimple like sores over their genitals within 2 - 20 days after exposure... You have no sores from what you tell me... But it does sound like this tonsilitis weakened your immune system big time and you developed some type of infection in your vaginal area.... Herpes hurts people because of the blisters which burst, and thats what hurts... Yet you have no visible sores, ulcers, blisters that are visible that could have burst... Obviously that pain is coming from something else.. And on top of that I've never heard of people taking so long to heal up either unless you have AIDS... WHICH YOU DON'T, dont you dare lose a second of sleep over that... The most I've seen and read was 2 - 3 weeks to heal completly... I hope everything goes OK....

Thanks Richard. That is encouraging, but I will let everyone know what the results are when I hear tomorrow and on Friday. Today I am using cortizone over the counter and have another little pimple dot. You are the best for providing assistance to all in need. Thanks and keep doing it.

Okay, the swab test was negative for my genital area, and I had them do one on my throat just to be sure and that was negative. All vaginal tests for bacteria, etc. came up normal. Still don't have the blood test, which is too early to tell anyway. I STILL HAVE BURNING and RED IRRITATED SKIN in and around my V all day and night, and every few days during the week I get a low grade fever, with no lesions I can see. It is almost as if I have had 4 mini outbreaks with fever, swelling, and burning and no ulcers. It is 4 full weeks. I asked the doctor for Valtrex to try, which I am going to try when I get off the Keflex for my throat in a few days. All creams, ointments, compresses make it worse. I still think this is Herpes....I have looked into everything else.

Still waiting

I read you posting and I am having trouble figuring out what is going on with me as well. There is so much info on the web but other than the ?classic? symptoms, it is tough to figure things out. Everyone tells me it does not sound like my case is herpes but it sure feels like it. I am waiting on time to pass before I take another blood test. Hang in there.

Well my blood test which was taken at week 2-3 came back negative of course. So I am going to wait til 12 weeks. I still have same symptoms and it is now 5 full weeks. Haven't tried my Valtrex yet because I don't know when the outbreak started if it is one....it is just one constant red and inflamed frickin vagina. Heard Valtrex is only good if started within 24 hours. Plus I have been on meds for 4 weeks and am giving my body a break. BTW I found a great book on the web called "the V book" everything you want to know about vaginal infections and stuff. got it on amazon. there are infections in there i never knew about.

Ok. well more info about my condition in Week 7. I tried Valtrex fo 10 days. No improvement. Went to a dermatologist and she said I should be checked out by the gynecologist for HPV because lots of times she says the wart virus causes burning. And she said the little pimple dots I have been getting on my butt (because I got 6 more) are unrelated and foliculitus. So, that is where this is going now... The gyno is going see me next week for a wart biopsy and look inside again. I'll let you know.

not sure what this is either

I have been having a similar problem. I keep having a rash, in my pubic area and it feels like my skin is crawling. I don't have any blisters or pus filled lesions. My genitals just itch a lot. I dont know what is going on either. I went to the Dr. and she said it just sounds like yeast but it is not going away even after I used monistat 7 day treatment. Everywhere I read it says that herpes causes painful blisters and tingling in the area where the blisters will appear but i dont have that either. I also get white spots on my throat about 4 times a year and no Dr. ever is able to diagnose what they are. It is like pulling teeth to get them to culture my throat and they always say it isnt herpes because it would be very painful, and it is usually not sore. But when I get those white spots on my throat my vagina is also itchy and red and a little sore, but no blisters with pus. I am at a loss of what to do. I am scared to tell my fiance.

Well yesterday I went to the gyno and he did a vaginal colposcopy where he puts this vinegar solution all over and looks with a magnifying glass. I still have no lesions or warts on the outside or anything, just inflamation and red irritation all the time. The area that was really red at 6 o'clock at my V got all white from the vinegar and I guess some other areas inside he said were questionable too, because he took biopsy tissue to send to the lab. Will know in two weeks what the results say, HPV virus, precancer, etc. He didn't tell me much but it hurt like hell so bad he stopped after 4 tissue cuts. OMG it was so bad I had to go home instead of back to work and I can't walk today. I have been crying ever since. If it is VIN it could be caused by herpes, HPV and other stuff. I have no idea but it is freaking me out and I hurt so bad. I know I am rambling but this has been 12 weeks of a horror show in my life. I don't know where else to turn. And what is the dr going to tell me in two weeks. I am trying to stay in the moment but it hurts from the cuts and vinegar.

Ok. I went for the test results of the biopsy and the tissue cells came back "atypical" which means not normal and not cancer or precancer, but the next stage after atypical is precancer. The wierd thing is that no HPV showed up which is common when they find bad cells and VIN (and herpes can lead to it too, as can smoking, which I smoke). So the doctor is referring me to the local university's gynecology oncology group to look at my biopsy slides and talk about possible treatment because he said he can't treat it without a more specific diagnosis. So, symtoms are still red and irritated at 6 o'clock with burning. And I still don't know what is causing this. (I still want to do a herpes blood test now that I am at 12 weeks, but the doctor said the test he did would have shown that I had it and to see if the next doctor suggests another test. I don't know.)

The doctors are no help. No HPV. No Cancer. They said it is vulvodynia. But that can be caused by Herpes. And the doctor won't give me a blood test because he said he needs a culture and that a blood test won't tell me anything. Said they would culture me at my next appt. in 6 weeks. How do I know if there will be anything to culture in 6 weeks. .I say...if I had a negative 2 weeks after exposure, and I get a positive now 5 months later, then I guess we would have a frickin answer wouldn't we? And maybe the acyclovir would help, but they won't give me any more tests. I get no cooperation from the doctors at all. I am so upset. Any suggestions? What doctor can I go to that would give me a blood test for herpes? Anyone know? I already went to the gynocologist and oncologist.

Hi

Good to know it's 'not cancer. Please keep posting here - I'm in the same boat and very concerned. I know I have genital herpes but have been outbreak free since my initial one 4 years ago...until a bit over a month ago, when I started having exactly the symptoms you describe. I chalked it up to an outbreak but it is STILL going on. This is beyond the scope of HSV as I understand it.

I'm going in to the college dr. tomorrow and i'll post what he says. I tried to get in for a PAP but they were booked for weeks. I said, "Um...Bladder infection?" and they had an opening for that. So I don't think they'll be able to do a PAP but at least they'll give me some direction. I'm used to being trouble-free down there and this is awful. And vulvodynia? Hmm...I looked that up and all it means is that your vagina hurts, which is what you went there for! Doctors! One thing I can offer is a post I read here which said that Monistant can be very irritating. So if your problem wasn't a yeast infection and you used that, it might have exaserbated the problem. I did the same thing and wonder that myself.

Keep in touch, good luck

Well hi it is me again. I went to the cancer doctor again on Friday because I was so irritated, more than usual and saw three little tiny red raised skin bumps in the same area. Doctor would not do a blood test (I can't get a blood test) but did a culture and I am waiting for the results. I asked for Acyclovir and he gave it to me. I have been on it for days and nothing is going away. Will let you know results of test. They won't listen to me.

I have been having weird symptoms for the past month also. At first i noticed a red bump after shaving which i figured was just from shaving. But its been there ever since(3 weeks now maybe). Then i had the signs of a yeast infection, and got treated, but my vagina still didnt feel right. I havent had sex lately, but i did mess around and just having someone finger me hurt inside. Also about two weeks ago my pelvic area was real sore and i thought it was from the guys hip bones. but ive been on the internet all day today and all the signs of herpes are sounding like mine. Im totally freaking out. I have a doc app tomorrow but i wanted some answers now. My butt and thigh muscles have also been sore and i have not worked out at all lately.

Good luck with that culture - it's the best way to know, better than a blood test.

Best wishes to you.

The results of my culture were negative, although this time I had physical symtoms. Doctor won't do a blood test. So, now I am self treating with Lysine for the first time and the old Valtrex prescription from October. It seems to be helping a lot, but not completely...but this is the first time there is some relief. I am amazed actually. I am afraid to stop taking either. I also quit smoking 1 week and a half ago to see if that would help (as you can see I am going to every extreme to stop these constant symtoms).

So, now the question is -- in the absence of any positive test results, and although I am the only one who knows this is herpes, how do I get a doctor to prescribe Valtrex for me...the GP doctor who gave it to me said go to a gynecologist, the gynecologist said go to the oncologist, and the oncologist is done with me. My insurance covers the prescription so I don't want to order online. Who is going to help me? I need a doctor to listen. I am so frustrated.

The other thing is I am self medicating based on reading the treatment section of this site. At first I took two valtrex a day (500mg each) and 2 of the 1,000 lysines (some days I took 3)..After 7 days I went to 1 Valtrex and 1 Lysine in the morning. It is now day 11. Not sure how long I should keep taking this regimen...I have enough Valtrex to go one a day for 20 more days.

i know that this seems like a ridiculously obvious question, but have you spoken to the guy about it? he may have had mild herpes symptoms but thought nothing of them, he may have known he had the virus but thought it would be safe because he wasn't having an outbreak, but have been shedding asymptomically. i know this seems like a really obvious thing to say, but nobody had mentioned it yet so i figured it was worth a shot, at least. maybe you should ask him to have the test.

it just seems to me that if this really IS herpes, that's a lot of doctors that have been wrong. at least if the guy comes up negative you can pretty much close this avenue of thought.

A doctor who will listern

Well, it is me again. I finally found a woman doctor who will listen. The first thing she said is I think in this case we should do a blood test. She said I should not be in pain for 7 months, and wants to knock this out of my system if it is herpes, and she thinks it is. She said she will be shocked if the results come back negative. Only thing is I have been taking Lysine and I don't know if that will skew the results since it creates antibodies....she is checking it out. Also she put me on mega doses of Valtrex (shingles type dose) 3 grams a day for a week, then 2 for a week, etc.... I have been on it for one week and I still am irritated and have a suspicious spot at 6 oclock like usual. Test results take 2 weeks. She did a western blot. I cried of happiness in her office that someone actually is listening to my 7 month nightmare. Will post results.

Oh man, I am so sorry you have had to go through these problems for SEVEN MONTHS.... God Bless You, dear.

Why don't you sign up for an account and hang around a bit? I am happy you have a new doc who actually LISTENS (hang on to that one).

I understand what your going through - same thing with me - it seems like if it isnt a sore staring them in the face they have no idea what it could be. I also in the past had a non-specific bacterial infection that the gyno said would last about 2 wks then heal w/ no antibiotic. Still about 5-6 months later i was not the same - still red and an overall feeling of irritation, only the swelling had gone away and even that took at least a month -

Try to stay positive in that they havent found herpes yet, and thats a good thing - you remind me of myself with these never ending doctor visits, but hang in there, you are not alone -

also - a friend of mine actually thought she had herpes for a couple of years, but no culture was done, the doctors would look and say it looks like herpes - giving her medicine and it never helped. This consumed her and made her terribly depressed because she could not find help - Then she tried again another doctor and he said it was not herpes, but a bad bacterial yeast infection and with one roud of antibiotics she was compleatly healed.

It is not always herpes - it is unfortunatley comman, but woman deal with a very delicate area and the slightest off balance can cause tons of irritation and stress. dont lose hope.

I'm glad you're making progress.....

and "6 o'clock" great description of location.... but, If I'm correct, that is the "t'ain't" spot - (ain't your v, ain't your butt) Yes? The reason I ask - I always have what appears to be a "spot" there - but it isn't herpes. It's from tearing during sex - lack of lubrication, or a larger partner this can happen - and as we get older it becomes more common. I wonder if this is your issue at "6 o'clock"?

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.

Never had a history of Oral cold sores before, but have dated someone with them.  Thats very interesting about the test. This was my first full panel.  The large bumps have recently show up, its been about a few weeks when I noticed them. Again no pain nor fluids from them.
