i'm very worried... please help.

i've been very ill the past few days.. sore throat, fever, swollen glands, headache, muscle fatigue, and a period like vaginal discharge... i went to the doctor, i was told that i have strep throat and mono. i didn't talk about the vaginal discharge because i figured it was just a side effect from starting new birth control pills. today i was showering and while i was washing myself, i noticed a little spot that was kind of sore when i rubbed it. i looked at it when i got out of the shower, and it looks like a little open sore. it doesn't itch and it only hurts when i poke at it too much... i'm really not sure what it is... i don't know how long it's been there because it doesn't hurt. i've had unprotected sex with several people in the past 3 months or so... the last time i had sex was about a week ago. i didn't notice anything unusual at that time... nothing hurt from what i remember and my partner didn't seem to notice anything.. but i thought i would start doing some research on herpes. when i found out that some of my strep throat and mono symptoms were also the same for herpes symptoms i became very scared.. i don't know what to do... does it sound likely that i do in fact have herpes, or could it be something else? i'm very puzzled as to why it doesn't hurt or itch... it's just kind of there... please, any information would be most helpful.. i'm freaking out and i have no one to talk to.. thank you.

Discharge doesn't usually happen with herpes... Your other sypthoms do however sound like the first herpes outbreak... I truely hope that what you have isn't herpes... If it isn't I hope this was a good lesson, not to sleep around... This shits serious, 10 - 20 min in the sack could have ruined your entire life... You should see a docter, check this site out, compare it and the picture on there to your own sympthoms...

Do you have family to talk to? That may be a good idea.

Best idea before all else is to talk to your doctor and get a test to see if you do have herpes 1 or 2.

Have you had mono before? Typically if you've already had it the chances of getting it again are slim.

I basically diagnosed myself, thought I had it, then went to the Doctor to get tested and it came back negative. Then a month later I was getting a slight discharge so then I thought I had the clap. I got tested for all std's except HIV because my doctor doesn't test for that. I was 100% positive at this point that all I had was the clap and low and behold it came back HSV-2 positive.

I have been trying to get as much information as possible on this virus but many websites have different answers to simple questions or conflicting information. And no offense to anyone here that answers posts, but every question does not get answered.

I am having a hard time getting through this too. It's very difficult not having anyone to talk to about this. It's hard to talk to your boyfriend/girlfriend and basically impossible to talk to your friends. I am just dreading the future when I have to talk to future partners.

zit

I've had the same thing and basically it was a zit. It hurt also only when I poked it. If you had discharge it could be from that infection. Mine popped and went away. It also didn't hurt when I urinated.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
