Does anyone have any suggestions for coping with HSV2 at work? I sit at a computer chair ALL day.....and damn...it hurts. I am in an extreme amount of pain. Anyone dealing with the same thing? Any remedies? :-(

well if ur outbreak is so serious that u cant function at work> why would u want to sit there and be in pain, if u can at least be in pain comfortably in the privacy of ur own place.

ideas>

either drug urself up really good, and deal with it.

try and use some ointment like a&d, to keep the sores from sticking/rubbing against eachother, but using ointment, might keep the ob from healing quicker.

and try and not move. friction sucks, so if ur gonna sit. try and not move as much as possible, really there is nothing u can do to make the situation better.

Ouch

Dude I know exactally how you feel. I was laid off at the time of my first and only outbreak so I was lucky but it stresses me out to think of having to actually sit through all that pain for a full days work. People say life goes on but how are we supposed to take off work for this shit? So embarresing and inconveinent. I am looking for some answers too and it seems nobody has them. I'm just as floored as you. This whole thing makes me feel so helpless.

I work through it

Hi.

My sympathies.. I work through it. I teach trampolining so it's hard as I get hot sweaty and itchy even when having a mild OB..

I don't seem to have bad symptoms just tiny sore red sometimes open little patches either side of my vagina but it's very very painful.. and I can't seem to shift them at all.. had them mostly for 5 months or so.. any ideas anyone?

Try wearing a skirt?

Hi there,

I feel for you, dealing with an outbreak while sitting at a computer all day. I went through it too about a month ago during my first outbreak (or at least the first one i knew of--I must have gotten it at least 2 years ago but never had a sympton).

I'm hoping you're a girl, because if so I have a suggestion for you. Try wearing a skirt with very loose undies, or none if you can get away with it. Then sit with your legs spread apart at your desk. No one will notice, I promise. This helped for me.

Good luck!

Hi gavinsmama...

One thing I have done is to bring a bottle of tea tree oil to work with me and apply it to my sores when I have a bathroom break. If you can't stand the odor, maybe you can find some other soothing cream or ointment that can be applied. It's hard, I know. The tea tree oil is very soothing for me and the effects last quite a while.

Good luck...

talk to your doctor

and ask about a cream called Betamethasone val 0.1%

it is very soothing-

also try baby powder- for me it help b/c then the skin isn't directly against anything. also try to stand up every few minutes or so...

Wear loose fitting underwear because if its too tight that will irritate it even more. I wouldn't recommend wearing thongs. I learned the hard way. maybe you should try suppresive therapy the pain is supposed to lessen and just try your best not to think about it.

I agree with WaxedWrong, who said to try to sit still as much as possible. I went back today and basically sat cocked to the side on one butt cheek all day, trying to move as little as possible. Got through it with not much more than a sore butt cheek. ha ha

Well this question is something different for me.. I was just diagnosed, and i sit in a computer chair at work all day as well, but sitting and laying down feel the best for me. Standing and walking are killer.. if anyone reads this.. is it normal for me to feel like this?

But, best of luck to everyone on getting through this =]

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us

To give everyone confidence that it wasn’t herpes related and conclude as the doctor did that it was a dermatitis issue to refer back to the dermatologist to continue with investigations.
