wondering

Does the tingling which comes before an OB stop once the actual sores become apparent/visible or is it common for the tingling to stay throughout the full duration of the OB? This whole thing is so confusing.

Hi lostintime...I'd really like to know too.

I'm going through my first OB and wondering if it's normal for tingling to be ongoing and whether it indicates even more blisters will appear.

I never even get that tingling they talk about......never once.......had this a year and a half......and do not get typical outbreaks either.....no sores or lesions...just a rash that looks like razor burn in the pubic hair region on top and redness around the anus but nothing visible there but it feels so painful, like mini paper cuts around it but nothing visible when the doctor looks at it. nothing is typical.....the virus is different in each body and so are the signs and symptoms....wish i got the tingling....maybe then Id have an idea when I am getting outbreaks because it feels like I am always having one because of the rash like symptoms and invisible cut like pains. sucks so bad

tested positive for type 2 with a blood test....my doctor at first thought it was a yeast infection but when she looked at it again she said it could be herpes but was not as typical as the symptoms she had seen but none-the-less were signs of herpes. The blood test showed the presence of new antibodies. I also get what feel like paper cuts around the anus but are never visible to the eye....even my doctor said she could not see anything in that area but it is still symptoms of outbreaks. It sucks because they are not typical and I feel like it is almost always present on my skin in those areas.....tough to have a relationship when it is not even detectable at any time if it is or isnt an outreak.

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us

To give everyone confidence that it wasn’t herpes related and conclude as the doctor did that it was a dermatitis issue to refer back to the dermatologist to continue with investigations.
