Hello my name is Amber and I was diagnosed with gh on Firday the 16th. I have a 2 month old daughter and im terrified to change her diaper without latex gloves. See in the winter my hands get very dry and cracked and I was and sanitize my hands constantly but Im scared I will get it on my hands and spread it to her. Is that possible?? Also could my husband get it from the toilet or from towels that I use, or if my underwear get mixed in with his?? And will washing that actually kill the virus??? Someone please answer these questions im a basket case. Im so confused and i dont no what to think or do. Please help!!!

Thank You,

Amber

ur daughter is prob fine, if u are washing ur hands after u use the bathroom- and not touching urself randomly throughout the day- but if gloves make u feel better go for it. when i worked in day care, we always wore gloves it just more sanitary for the person changing the diaper.

my sister believes she can get it from the toilet but i have to remind her constantly that my crotch doesnt touch the ENTIRE rim of the seat. if im rubbing my crotch on the seat well then thats diffrent and mean, but im not. if it bothers anyone keep a can of lysol in the bathroom and spray/wipe when ur done.

laundry def kills it. the virus cant live very long outside the body, and well adding soap , and hot water> it doesnst stand a chance. your undies are fine w/ his.

towels>> i always wondered this, i read somewhere that you shouldnt share them, and then i wondered how many people actually share towels? its not hard to have 2 towels, i dont share the towel im using with my hubby and hes been fine.

for peeing- i found it extremly helpfull to do it in a warm bath.

just run some water, extend legs as far as u can, and go for it. at first release it stings but thats it.

i tried to not walk around as much as possible, i stayed in bed for like 3 weeks and only got up to go to the bathroom.

but i would just take alot of painkillers, if u have to. i was able to get a rx for vicodin since my outbreak(1st) was very bad

and yes they do get alot better. my 2nd one (8 months later) is no comparison. i didnt even know i was having one

... its possible, but it would depend on his immune system, your virus, shedding etc...

i havent spread it to my hubby in the time ive had it and we do it all the time, w/o protection. (not the smartest thing but weve had our talks, and are both aware of what might happen- and if i even feel like somthings going on below its condom-or nothing)

so its possible that u and ur hubby can have another child and not have him infected

To give some context I hve been suffering with this for the last 6/7 years this came about after I had varicella zoster on the inside of my body a week after I started getting clusters of spots on the top of my buttock they are not painful as such can be itchy at times but majority of the time I don’t feel it when I have an outbreak. I’ve been to various doctors who say it’s a fungal skin infection or a bacterial skin infection. I’ve asked if it’s herpes but they will say it’s not without even testing it.

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. @WilsoInAus could you kindly have a look :) also how long does it typically take for herpes blisters to develop into sores

Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us
