Do I have Acne or Herpes?

I came across this web site today and I'm hoping someone can help me. Last weekend I went away on a weekend trip with a new girlfriend. We had intercourse as well as oral sex. About four day after returning from our trip my chin broke out into a large grouping of very painful, what seemed to be, pimples. There were very painful. I've never gotten pimples in my life and I found it very strange that at 32 I was now getting them and ALOT of them at once.

I popped a few of them out of frustration. Then I went to the pharmacy and purchased some over the counter acne cream. Niether worked. They are still on my chin and hurt like hell. Now...NONE of them are in my mouth or on my lips, however I started to think that perhaps it was herpes contracted from my weekend trip. We had unprotected intercourse as well...however I do NOT have any of these sores/pimples on my penis.

So...I'm a little stumped. These look like normal pimples. When I pop them it's yellow-ish puss. They look just like pimples...but hurt like hell!

I have been checking for other signs of herpes. The only other thing I am finding abnormal is on my lymphnoies in my neck is a little swollan.

I am hoping someone here can relate. If it's acne then I know the steps to take, but if herpes, I've got my work cut out for me.

Please advise. Thanks in advance.

What your describing are the classic signs (symptoms) of HSV 1 infection... In other words you probably contacted it from kissing that girl you were with that weekend... 50 - 80% of the ppl have this virus, it's spread by skin to skin contact... Since you've never had any type of pimples or cold sores before, I'm imagining your a newly infected case... See "EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS" it's an article posted on this forum full of information about HSV 1 & 2 that I wrote... If you have any other questions feel free to ask...

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
