I feel dirty. hopeful, but shameful.

I can't help but feel dirty. Oh hi, im a new member. But yeah i can't help but compare the disease to leprocy(that spelling looks wrong-lol) My mom says thats not true and i shouldn't think like that. I'm trying not to but it's hard you know? I mean no one wants to talk about it. When i was younger we would associate herpes with the hoe, the bird in town, the get-around girl, so now(although that was so not the case with me) thats how i feel. Truly i am still trying to investigate my situation. How i got it. i've only had two sexual partners in the past 2 years... and both of them got tested and they are H-free!! that just doesn't make any sence. It really hurts when something tragic like an incurable disease appears in your life, in your health, but when you don't know who where when why, that just makes it even more confusing?? Any body on the same page as I am? hit me up.

I'M STILL HERE THOUGH!

I'm sorry... I know how you feel..... It's tough. The uncurable part is the hardest.. we're so used in our society to having a cure. To be told there's nothing is just... so hopeless. So yeah. Tough it out, the experienced members who have given me advice all say it gets better.

Cheer up!

Herpes is an annoying desease; it's unfortunate you got it, but it's hardly a tragedy. There are millions of people like you and me, people who continue living and loving in spite of having herpes. We are NOT dirty, and there is nothing for us to be ashamed of. HSV can strike anyone, anywhere. If you knew me, you'd have never guessed I had it - A respectable middle-class woman with two children and a husband (who btw gave herpes to me!), an advanced degree and a career in education (teaching young people like yourself!). Life will go on, believe me. It did for me, for 16 years after contracting herpes. Cheer up and good luck!!

Let's all just be thankful that it's only annoying and not life-threatening. My sister-in-law has MS, also incurable, and we're basically watching her die little by little. Yes, it was devastating news to hear I had H, but put it in perspective and be glad it's not a death sentence.

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us

To give everyone confidence that it wasn’t herpes related and conclude as the doctor did that it was a dermatitis issue to refer back to the dermatologist to continue with investigations.
