BirthControlPill Vs. Herpes (A ?? for a Doc Maybe)

My problem is exactly this...

I found out I had gential herpes and got on birth control at the same time. So for about a year I was having continuos out breaks until I realized that I wasn't having a problem during the inactivate week of my birth control pak. Well, I skipped the next month and had no problems with out breaks. Decided I would take the pill again the next month and had out breaks thoughout that month. So the next month again, I stopped taking OrthoNova (birth control pill) and again had no problems with out breaks. Since realizing this I have quit taking the pill all together. And have had no problems with outbreaks. I recently went to my doctor and explained what I had experienced and he basically told me that the pill had nothing to do with the herpes and that it was by sheer chance that the months I was taking the pill that I didn't have out breaks. He said and I quote, "You were probably just healthy at those times..." I know I'm not crazy and that the pill was having some sort of effect on my body. Has this ever been heard of before?

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
