HSV1 Outbreak treatment

Recommended Posts

What do y'all usually do when you get an outbreak? I've been using abreva and campho phenique for the past 10 years and I've always gotten mixed results. I'm thinking bout trying Lysine cream. Has anybody ever had luck with it?

I've haven't tried the cream yet but I think I'm going to look into it, I been taking lysine tablets daily and I woke up today to a new cold sore but it is only pin sized, not big like the other ones I have gotten. So I would recommend that along with other vitamin tablets.

I haven't tried the Lysine Cream yet, but here's what I do (no cream involved):

Solgar Ester-C 4-5000mgs per day, split in two doses, with food (Also, Ester-C is easier on the stomach than reg. Vit. C)

Solgar B12 - 4000 MCGS

Solgar B6 - 100

Solgar MV-75 Multi

Olive Leaf Extract...Barleans is once again a very good brand for this, but the mint taste can be hard to take. If you buy another brand, make sure it contains a high oleuropeins content - it is said for hsv, 20%+ is ideal...as opposed to a high MG content)

Oreganol P73 (Mediterranean Oregano Oil 10drops under the tongue, hold for 30 secs then swallow and chase with lots of water...I do this twice daily...)

I'm also cooking alot with Organic Extra-Virgin Coconut Oil which is an antifungal and antiviral. Regular cheaper coconut oil does not contain the properties of Organic Extra-Virgin so do not substitute with cheaper brands! Nutiva is a great brand.

I've cut down my coffee and ELIMINATED all alcohol. I've also eliminated all sugar.

Coriolus Versicolor (Turkey Tail) Mushroom (I use Mycology Research Laboratories brand) 3000MG per day.

I ALWAYS take supplements with food to increase absorption.

Also, Flaxseed Oil is very good to take for the depression aspect as well as enhancing the immune system. 3 TBS per day. Get the refrigerated Barlean's brand, it is MUCH more effective than the capsules.

So far with this regimen, I've had no outbreaks. None. The 'tingling' down there especially stopped from the Ester-C and the Oreganol P73. I'm hoping in a few months with this regimen to go back for bloodwork and see if I've eliminated the disease.

Also, limit your stress and get into a meditational practice if you can. Exercise daily at least 20 minutes per day.

Hello, thank you for your generous donation. I donated on Monday after finding the amazing work that has been done. I got a lot of answers from this forum and I hope more people get involved.  Donation send a great message of the interest that we have for a cure. Thank you and I really believe the cure is in the next couple of years.

I’m bringing us to 20k; I really believe in the research the Jerome lab is doing and want it to cure everyone.

I think people are discouraged by past failures but remember in failure, new things are learned and the progress on understanding hsv is increasing. Up until Jerome’s lab devised a way to attack the latent virus in 2012 there was never a way to potentially cure it; now there is. Couple in the advancements in technology and I think there’s more hope now than ever that it can be cured in the near future.

      That's actually a comforting statistic

Because it is still a non curable threat in community. Whether it's a small group of people who experience the most severe symptoms, they're still people, just like you. Hsv prevalence will only grow due to lack of effectiveness of treatment and eventual resistance of virus. The virus will infect more and more people and this virus will and may affect your quality of life and in some rare cases it may lead to severe complications and blindness, meningitis etc. Last time I checked by 2025, US will have half of its population infected genital herpes. Do you think WOH and health community will like that?
