Hello all, I have been recently diagnosed and am now ready to deal with the fact that I have this condition. I found out two weeks ago and have felt almost every emotion fathomable. I think what started my emotional down turn is the nonchalant attitude of my Dr. I don't know how to tell my boyfriend and I don't suspect he gave it to me as my Dr. told me I could have had it a while and confused it for something else. Trying to manage and not seem like a leper does anyone have suggestions on how to disclose to people the condition.

hey zelsgrand welcome to our site. :wavey: What is your h type? How did you test? If you tested with IGG then it has numeric value , numbers on these test. Are you on antivirals? I have ghsv2 for 24 years I take daily Valacyclovir and have only had 2 Ob's ever. Maybe you bf has this already? If you genital H and it is GHSV1 , this comes from oral sex. He may be Asymptomatic. He needs to get tested. here is link on telling partners , please read all you can. Bring him here. Tell him one in 4 woman and one in 5 men already have some form of genital herps. Also 80% of the populations has H in one form or another, but since they never properly test , they never get properly diagnosed. Here is also a book , read it and let him read it too. Your not alone hon, many have h just they never show signs. Your DR is correct however either of you could have had H for many many years but never showed signs. I stayed dormant for 23 years, just had my second ob ever. Take care and ask many questions here or in Live Chat. truly, Ace :hithere:

I believe it’s type 2 but apparently either strain can be found either end! So I will hopefully clarify all this in the coming week!

@WilsoInAus https://forums.herpesopportunity.com/topic/8577-unprotected-sex-and-transmission-of-hsv2-with-no-symptoms/ Here they say we can shed the hsv2 virus up to 35% of the time. We are far from the 4% transmission rate. That rate is not for everyone. So if i always have prodome and i shed more than others my transmission rate is a lot higher than just 4% so please stop spreading false information.

Unsure whether this is something to be worried about or not. Coming up to 3 weeks now. I’ve been to a sexual health clinic and they said there’s nothing to worry about. I haven’t had sex in 6 months I’ve also never done it without a comdom. There is no fluid in them even when I’ve tried to squeeze them. There’s also 2 of them near my belly button
