hsv-1 inside of the mouth?

Recommended Posts

Diamond44

I have genital hsv-1 for over 3 years now. Don't get outbreaks. I have been with my boyfriend for a bit now. We have protected genital sex and unprotected oral sex. Our decision. Last week he develops these sore spots inside his mouth. One is under his tongue, one is on the very tip of his tongue, and one on the roof. They are all very small in diameter. The one under his tongue has a small white area with red around, others are just red. These sores are accompanied with him feeling sick and swollen lymph nodes. All classic of hsv. It's painful for him to eat, even swallow. I'm unsure because it says its rare to get hsv inside the mouth, those are considered canker sores. He has never had issues with canker sores before. Does anyone experience sores inside of mouth like this, and could I be safe to assume this is his first exposure? Any insight would be great. I have never passed this on to someone. I'm stressing for him. No genital symptoms though.

Hsv1 is oral, it can affect the genitals but if it does it rarely causes any problem, you probably hve hsv2 if it's happily residing in the genital area, I found this which may help:

Similarly, HSV-2 infection in theoral area-outside its site of preference-very rarely causes problems. First of all, oral, HSV-2 infections are rare, for reasons discussed below. But even when an infection occurs, recurrent outbreaks are uncommon. In one study (Lafferty et al., New England Journal of Medicine, 1987), oral HSV-2 recurred an average of 0.01 times a year in newly infected people. "I've never convincingly seen an oral type 2 recurrence," says Spruance.

Unfortunately HSV 1 can be at home in both areas; oral and genital and it can cause very serious breakouts.

Is it possible for your bf to get the sores swabbed?

Many of people get internal sores with oral HSV 1 but without your bf getting checked out there is no way to tell for sure.

yeah, maybe he had a cold sore and touched it with his tongue, and that's how he have it in his mouth? that's the only explanation I can think of. because H can pop up anywhere I've read, it's just too tricky to pin point where it can be.

No, he hasnt had any issues with cold sores before. He didn't go get checked out because he just assumed thats what it was. After 2 weeks everything is back to normal but I am not sure this is hsv or not.

he could have H. he needs to stop avoiding this and get checked. if it is H, he needs to get meds to control the virus, because he could end up passing it to you or someone else -__- .

Anyone know anything about potential side effects?

You obviously can’t read. Why don’t you actually read the article, or the excerpt I posted? Here it is even simpler for you: prostaglandins were shown to enhance the spread of herpes virus in cell culture 26 27 and to inhibit interferon production 27 28 and were implicated in the reactivation of herpetic skin lesions.

Hormones definitely affect HSV outbreaks according to research. I'm a male but on anti-estrogen medication in constant trouble. Have a look at my thread here: https://honeycomb.click/topic/76903-over-4-years-with-hsv-2-symptoms-keep-getting-worse-with-non-stop-outbreaks-despite-suppressive-therapy-need-help/

First page, 8th post with studies about E2 / Progesterone effects on HSV.

It's getting pretty terrible now, I don't ever remember the last time I was feeling normal. I'm so sick of this constant flu-like feeling that makes me depressed and very unproductive. I have so many ideas and ambitions for life but I end up just doing the bare minimum due to constantly feeling like shit.  A week ago I tried stopping my anti-estrogen medication if that could have been the cause (it states "infection" in the listed, common side effects). Had my hopes up for a day or two but just got another outbreak this week that makes me want to sleep in bed all day. On top of this, now my breasts hurt because of increased E2 levels.

I guess I still have some hopes with new research drugs such as Crispr and Amenalief. I would order Amenalief from Japan immediately, but it costs more than my monthly rent.. I might have to start a business on top of my full time job so I can afford it. Better option than self-pity but extra stress will surely not help with the HSV2 ;)

Probably the therapy with SADBE helps us to develop a partial immune system on HSV. If you use more SADBE you will develop more immune system on HSV. This is most likely a mechanism of action.
