I have been diagnosed with HSV-2. I already knew I had HSV-1 because I have had cold sore on a rare occasion. So far, I am asymptomatic for the virus below the waist. My question is does anyone know what determines the frequency of outbreaks and why some people don't get them but others have them more often?

Thanks for the relay back-

L

I don't think they know. Most people either do not have symptoms or they are so mild that they do not suspect that it is HSV.

Hey Lorena, I wish I knew. I have had ghsv2 for 24 years only 2 ob's ever. My last , second ob, was brought on by stress. Before that I stayed dormant for 23 years. I do that supressive daily therapies and that reduces shedding and supresses outbreaks. I talk to many who get ob weekly, monthly, and yearly. I also talk to many who are like me, they had that initial ob, then no more. Some took meds, many did not. We have not passed out h through vital shedding either. It has to be within how we each live and what we do to strengthen our immune systems. It's a mystery and a good question. Take care hon, hugs. Truly, Ace :hithere:

I really don't know, Lorena. to me some are just lucky that way. I have OB's every month. you'll learn how to deal with it like the rest of us. so, don't sweat it too much.
