Hoping to connect with others

Hi, I'm 'Lissa' and was diagnosed about 3-4 weeks ago with genital herpes. I was so devastated, embarassed, and lost when my Doctor told me this. I came home and threw out my boyfriend of 3yrs!! I felt betrayed and didn't know what to do! :madd: I have done some research online, and found out that this can be contracted and lay dormant in your system for YEARS!!! :hmmmm2: So, I felt kindof silly for immediately taking it out on my boyfriend. But at the same time, I'm trying to learn how to deal with this and connect with others who may be able to help me emotionally, and mentally.

I look forward to hearing from others...... any suggestions on how to deal with the painful outbreaks (which I have now) or how to have a positive outlook when your in so much pain.

Thanks!

Hi Lisa I also have it and I got it from my husband. Its only now that I am starting to resent him for giving it to me. I am so full of anger right and have been living with it for 15years. When I get my outbreaks its when the anger comes back and I just cry sometimes. Right now we are divorcing and it looks like I am now really starting to hate him for this. any way the doctor gave me Adco-Acyclovir Tropical Cream and it works for me within two to threes I am fine the blisters are gone.

I believe it’s type 2 but apparently either strain can be found either end! So I will hopefully clarify all this in the coming week!

@WilsoInAus https://forums.herpesopportunity.com/topic/8577-unprotected-sex-and-transmission-of-hsv2-with-no-symptoms/ Here they say we can shed the hsv2 virus up to 35% of the time. We are far from the 4% transmission rate. That rate is not for everyone. So if i always have prodome and i shed more than others my transmission rate is a lot higher than just 4% so please stop spreading false information.

Unsure whether this is something to be worried about or not. Coming up to 3 weeks now. I’ve been to a sexual health clinic and they said there’s nothing to worry about. I haven’t had sex in 6 months I’ve also never done it without a comdom. There is no fluid in them even when I’ve tried to squeeze them. There’s also 2 of them near my belly button
