Traveling and herpes

Recommended Posts

Hi guys...ahh i need to stop posting but I feel like were family now so I am going to post :D

For those of y'all that dont know me...was diagnosed Friday...going into my second week of my ob...its gradually getting better thank The Lord. Not going to let it take over my life...It's only allowed to have these two weeks of my life...thats it...no more!

Anyways I am on here because I love love love to travel. I take two trips a year and starting next year I plan to take more! I want to do a grand tour of Spain in2014. Its for 2 weeks. I just dont want my herpes to misbehave. Do any of y'all travel a lot? Have any of y'all had an ob while traveling?! This is what I don't want to happen you know? Should I take meds daily? I wasn't planning on it...was just going to take my vitamins, work out, and be as hyper and happy as I usually am BUT I don't want to be on a trip and have on ob! eeek!

I'd say even if you aren't taking daily meds....to take antivirals with you if you go on a trip. (like an emergency store) So you wouldn't have to take them daily, but you would have them on hand in case an ob popped up.

Yep, and if you are worried about someone seeing your meds, you can put them in a different bottle. I keep my valacyclovir in an allergra bottle. :)

Just a note of caution. If you are stopped by customs and the drug and the bottle don't match it could cause you problems

I travelled for 3 years with H, just always made sure I had spare just in case! But my H never made a difference, bit of a bug bear a times but never got me down or homesick. I brought my meds back from the USA with no label on them so be safe but dont be 2 worried.

Happy travelling!!

I believe it’s type 2 but apparently either strain can be found either end! So I will hopefully clarify all this in the coming week!

@WilsoInAus https://forums.herpesopportunity.com/topic/8577-unprotected-sex-and-transmission-of-hsv2-with-no-symptoms/ Here they say we can shed the hsv2 virus up to 35% of the time. We are far from the 4% transmission rate. That rate is not for everyone. So if i always have prodome and i shed more than others my transmission rate is a lot higher than just 4% so please stop spreading false information.

Unsure whether this is something to be worried about or not. Coming up to 3 weeks now. I’ve been to a sexual health clinic and they said there’s nothing to worry about. I haven’t had sex in 6 months I’ve also never done it without a comdom. There is no fluid in them even when I’ve tried to squeeze them. There’s also 2 of them near my belly button
