positive but no symptoms

Recommended Posts

I had two tests done - both show hsv 2 igg @ 5.62 :( I have absolutely no symptoms but looks like that number puts me out of the false positive range. Not sure if I should go in for the western blot or not ... Thoughts?

I'm worried about my dating life. I'm Indian (in the states) and assume most Indian girls would run away screaming if they knew :( I'm 28, all ready to finally settle down, and boom...

Seems so unfair.

Hi sry to hear that. Just found out I have hsv2 never had symptoms either im 24. I dont know much about the western blot but you could ask in the chat room or another category of the post like the Herpes Tests and Diagnosis section. Dating is difficult in general and I know this makes it harder. I also know that culturally certain things are frowned upon. My family is from the islands culture is different from the states. The only thing I can say is you have to live for you and get passed this. It's gonna be hard but im learning life throws us curve balls and we have to deal. Im trying also. good luck and I hope this site helps you. Im free to talk anytime

Yeah, I just found out I had it after a routine check at the doctor about two months ago. I have never had any symptoms either. I try to be thankful that atleast I don't have horrible outbreaks like some people. I told my dad, and he was very supportive. There are so many more people with it than we realize. Many people are like us and have no symptoms, so they never find out that they have it. You are not alone. Dating will change, but you will find someone. I promise.
