I'm a 23 year old female working on my Masters in Criminology at the University of Texas at Dallas. :) is that collegey enough? I am a peer I suppose. Also, feel free to message me or contact me in any way. I would be more than happy to talk about school (FINALS WEEK = HELL WEEK) or herpes (herpes outbreaks suck). Or you know, dogs... I have one... favorite colors are grey and dark blue (GET'EM COWBOYS).

20-year old junior at UMBC in Maryland, woot woot. Don't you just love how open-minded and non-judgmental college campuses are nowadays? *heavy sarcasm*

I hope you are all surviving finals well enough and not too stressed!

Aw that's so cool! :) How are you liking UCD? UCSC is a pretty chill school a little isolated for my taste, but ah it's good. I'm a city chick though. :p I haven't opened up to any of my friends there even though people seem very tolerant. I'm still in a phase where I'm having trouble believing this is reality. Oh well, I hope it passes...

I totally love all the responses i got here. It really helps me see that i am not alone. As much as the statistics do seem to help it just makes it a lot more really when you actually hear from those who have it. I hope you all had a fabulous finals week, christmas and new years. Please keep in touch, message me if you want to chat(:

Doesn't this suck. Using protection and still catching this BS. Uggh, my life story!!

I think Dr. Jerome is just being cautious. I've followed what he's done and have 100% confidence in him. Predicting the exact number of years to a cure would be hard, but their last article about HSV makes me think it can't be too far off.

Did you ever find out if this was herpes or not?
    • WilsoInAus
@GotMeAtLast I doubt the doctor actually told you that, that doesn’t explain why you kept coming here looking for validation.  By your own admission, you have had oral HSV-1 for years. Further you have never swabbed positive from your genital region. Everyone is allowed to form their own conclusions on the basis of that truth. If you wish to conclude you have genital herpes, that’s OK. If I want to conclude you don’t, that’s OK.

It's been five months since possible exposure and keep having symptoms. I keep experiencing thigh and pelvic pain and thick discharge. Also get shooting pains vaginally and on my butt. I just saw a small white bump inside my labia and next to it is a small open sore. They don't hurt when touched but the rest of my vagina hurts when touched or sitting. Does any of this sound like anyone's ob? I got tested in October but I'm scared I tested too early and now having trouble getting a doctor to retest me
