UGHH

Ok so I'm 21 weeks pregnant & worried to death about passing an std to my baby at birth. For about 2 years now I have been suffering from a diganosis I'm not sure is correct. It started with one pearly white pimple like lesion on my inner vagina & when I looked at it it popped very easily & turned into an ulcer type thing that repeatedly fills with pus every week or so(pus is not visible unless you pop it. I.e. no white head to it) & it's been like that for literally 2 years, never gone away. Ive been to three different doctors including my obgyn for my pregnancy & none of them seem to see the sore I am talking about and think I'm crazy. Herpes blood test & syphilis blood test always come back negative. Then about 2 days ago I noticed on my inner left labia I think? The inside lip of my vagina, two lesion looking sores & rushed to my obgyn to get them checked & he said "they're skin tags" which I think is wrong because they look nothing like skin tags & theyre in the mucus membrane area & they look like lesions to me....also recently I was screened for all the stds including herpes again & all of which came back negative, except still waiting for the herpes results which I won't get back until January 3rd. And add most importantly either of these don't really hurt. Ill get a slight random tingling sensation or throbbing sensation or itchy but never all at the same time. Sorry if TMI. Any questions please ask, & please advice or feedback, doctors think I am completely insane about this so I am hopeless & scared & don't need judgement or mean responses. Thank you.

Hey UGHH, WELCOME!! Honey first off , noone is here to judge you . Did they actually culture or swab this sore? Did they test for genital warts, HPV ? I have a daughter. I had h years before I had my daughter and she is fine. Your nervous and understandably so. The baby will be fine. How did they test you, by blood? I'm assuming that is why you have to wait for the h results?. Can you get copies of your test, just to rule out what it isn't. I want to know if you have tested when you found out you were pregnant? When I became pregnant they ran all sorts of test. My doctors already knew I had h. I had to tell them. Please try not to stress. The test you did take have all come up negative and maybe it is just a matter of seeing an infectious disease doctor. I'm sorry your going through this. Being pregnant is hard enough on the hormones, without having to worry about other things. Remember to take care of the two of you. Please relax, stress is way worst than h. I don't understand what you mean by they can't see the sore. Maybe wait til it pops up again, get to doctor and show them what you are popping. This really doesn't sound like h, but I am not a doctor. I have ghsv2 and had anus h too. It's been 24.years now. If you need to talk post here or private message me. I'm here. Take care and please keep us posted. Hugs, Ace :hithere:

I've had hsv 2 (genital herpes) for 2 years and I've never ever seen pus in any of the blisters I've had. as far as I know, there shouldn't be pus present at all, just like with a normal blister, only clear fluid. I hope you find out what's going on but in the mean time just enjoy your pregnancy, it'll be over before you know it. good luck!

Hello, thank you for your generous donation. I donated on Monday after finding the amazing work that has been done. I got a lot of answers from this forum and I hope more people get involved.  Donation send a great message of the interest that we have for a cure. Thank you and I really believe the cure is in the next couple of years.

I’m bringing us to 20k; I really believe in the research the Jerome lab is doing and want it to cure everyone.

I think people are discouraged by past failures but remember in failure, new things are learned and the progress on understanding hsv is increasing. Up until Jerome’s lab devised a way to attack the latent virus in 2012 there was never a way to potentially cure it; now there is. Couple in the advancements in technology and I think there’s more hope now than ever that it can be cured in the near future.

      That's actually a comforting statistic

Because it is still a non curable threat in community. Whether it's a small group of people who experience the most severe symptoms, they're still people, just like you. Hsv prevalence will only grow due to lack of effectiveness of treatment and eventual resistance of virus. The virus will infect more and more people and this virus will and may affect your quality of life and in some rare cases it may lead to severe complications and blindness, meningitis etc. Last time I checked by 2025, US will have half of its population infected genital herpes. Do you think WOH and health community will like that?
