I have so many questions!

Recommended Posts

I just found out yesterday that I have genital herpes from a school nurse and she didn't seem too interested in answering any of my questions. She seemed to be rushing me out so I didn't bother her anymore; I made an appointment with a gynecologist at home.

Until then...

How soon after exposure did you get your first outbreak? My first sexual partner in a year was about two weeks ago. We've had sex about four times since then and we've used condoms every time. He did perform oral sex on me last Thursday, however. and it seemed like Friday was the day that this bump showed up; maybe Saturday. Could he have given it to me? Or could it have been dormant for over a year and just now showing up?

The lights were always dim or off while we had sex so I am unable to tell you if I noticed any bumps or anything on him.

It could also be that he has cold sores like most of the population, and you got HSV1 genitally. It could also be HSV2, dormant from a year ago, or he may have HSV2 and not know it.

I believe it’s type 2 but apparently either strain can be found either end! So I will hopefully clarify all this in the coming week!

@WilsoInAus https://forums.herpesopportunity.com/topic/8577-unprotected-sex-and-transmission-of-hsv2-with-no-symptoms/ Here they say we can shed the hsv2 virus up to 35% of the time. We are far from the 4% transmission rate. That rate is not for everyone. So if i always have prodome and i shed more than others my transmission rate is a lot higher than just 4% so please stop spreading false information.

Unsure whether this is something to be worried about or not. Coming up to 3 weeks now. I’ve been to a sexual health clinic and they said there’s nothing to worry about. I haven’t had sex in 6 months I’ve also never done it without a comdom. There is no fluid in them even when I’ve tried to squeeze them. There’s also 2 of them near my belly button
