my wife came down with some bumps on her privates.last week i looked at them and went to the dr he tested and said by the looks is it was the big H,,

were loyal to each other ,2 weeks ago we got drunk and i went down on her and we forgot about sore on my lip..

week later there's our friend..

man 13 years 3 kids ..now what..? i dont want it but i dont want to use condoms the rest of my life what a bummer..we have a verry active sex live and love each other verry much..i feel it is all my fault..

the sores popped up around the hood of her clit..

will valtrex daily keep me from getting it?

Its been 13 years and if you're not going anywhere why worry. She most likely contracted it from your cold sore so technically you already have it except in a different location. Hey, abstain when there is an outbreak and go to town when there is not. If your relationship can withstand 13 yrs and it is still strong,this just a minor inconvenience.

I just was diagnosed with Herpes last April. I am a woman. I'd like to ask a question. When I don't have an outbreak, is is OK for the man to go down on me or does he have to use something Also, vice versa, is it Ok for me to go down on him if I am the one who has herpes when I don't have an outbreak?

topaz.. oral sex either way can transmit the virus from the gential area to the mouth.. and theres a chance even when the symptons are not present of this happening.. u should always use protection

Hi, according to the UK Herpes information site, once you are infected, there is very little chance of re-infection in another part of your body.

Have a look - http://www.herpes.org.uk/ Also if it is type-1, then your partner has only a small chance of recurring outbreaks in the genital area. I would stop worrying if I were you and get on with your lives.

Don't have sex when she is having an outbreak....

Because you are married, I give you the following advice...

Outside of when she has an outbreak, I would have the same sex life that you normally had.

I have read that type 1 is not known to shed as much as type 2. Since she got it from your lip, she probably has type 1 even though its in the genital area...

If you REALLY REALLY REALLY want to reduce the risk as much as possible, and I agree, being married, and using condoms sucks...

You could wash yourself after sex... Keep a tub of wet ones near your bed, and wipe your dick off when you are done with sex...

Honestly, I wouldn't go 'that far'... If I was you, I'd just have normal sex as long as she wasn't having an outbreak...

yeah, there is a SLIM chance you could get it from HSV1 shedding, but not worth ruining a good sex life over.

If you DO get it, life isn't over.... no biggie, you might have to not have sex for a few days a couple times a year because you might have an outbreak, but that's not the end of the world, and again... why ruin your sex-life on the slim chance that WORST case scenario, you get it, and have to avoid sex for a few days once or twice thru the year?

      Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

      Hey @WilsoInAus miałam dzisiaj wizytę u dermatologa, gdyż dostałam zmian w pachwinie, w trakcie wakacji nad morzem. Udałam sie tam ze zmianami w postaci strupów. Powiedział ze nie można wykluczyć opryszczki mimo negatywnego wyniku Hsv igg i zalecił wymaz z pochwy na Hsv i inne choroby. Wytłumaczyłam mu że zmiany zamieniają się w strup, ale nie ma w nich płynu, więc zalecił badanie śluzu pochwy na hsv PCR, zastanawiam się czy ma to sens, i czy wirusa można wykryć na podstawie tego badania w wydzielin z szyjki macicy.       Never had a history of Oral cold sores before, but have dated someone with them.  Thats very interesting about the test. This was my first full panel.  The large bumps have recently show up, its been about a few weeks when I noticed them. Again no pain nor fluids from them.
