acne, cancer, herpes

I have HSV1 and HSV2

Just when I think I've somewhat figured this plague out!!! I just read in another post a reference made to having dry scaley patches of skin on the body. I have a couple spots on my face (prior to H diagnosis) that have been increasing that I have chalked up to a type of skin cancer (I plan on seeing a dermatologist for), but this is the first time I've heard that it could be related to H. I've been noticing a huge increase in acne (and I'm 36) on my face and a couple small red dry spots on my arms. I don't know if this has always been an issue or I am just freaking out at every blemish!

My real concern is these couple patches of skin on my face that look like skin cancer. Has anyone heard or experienced this as it relates to H?? THe morbid truth is I am hoping for skin cancer! Genital, while disgusting and horrifying enough, is at least private. I cant walk around with a face full of H and lead a normal life! Can anyone please shed (ug bad choice of words) some info on facial acne related to H etc??

God, I want the sun to shine again!!! I'm so sick of this darkness.

Sorry, forgot one other issue. I have to change Gyno's because mine is a brainless, insensitive ass that doesnt know anthing about H (don't get me started on my office visit) anyway, I need to change Dr's and obviously see a dermatologist for the skin thing. I feel very awkward and embarrassed about releasing my condition to a new Dr. THe last thing I want is to go in to the dermatologist and have him tip toe around me because he's grossed out that I could be contagious. Has anyone had problems with telling new Docs about their condition? Gynos I am a little easier about , but like Skin doc would be weird to tell them about an STD.

I wish everyone in the world was required to get tested for this so the truth of how many people have it would be revealed thus relieving the anxiety and social tabu we have to deal with (that was just a closing thought, no real relevence) thanks for listening

i really dont think herpes affects acne.

i have herpes and dont get any more, or less acne.

do u have oral or genital? cause if its oral then i can see it leaving marks but not genital.

dry scaly dry spots, can be lots of things, like psoriasis.

i wouldnt say cancer just yet.

when u go to the new derm> dont mention u have herpes, see what the diagnosis is. try it out, if it doesnt improve in a few weeks/months (rem, nothing is a quick fix) then next time u go in for a check up, mention u think it might be related. oh and dont worry about it lots of people actually go to the derm for herpes instead of gyno, since it does infact effect our skin.

Hey Waxed, thanks for the reply. I only know I have 1 and 2. I assumed 1 was oral and 2 genital but also heard 1 and 2 can be both genital so I have no idea. I dont get cold sores, just little ulser like sores INSIDE my mouth, very minor. I cant get the answer to if its oral or not because I have no idea who to ask. I'm hoping both (my 1 and 2) are genital if thats possible. It will be easier to deal with something I can keep hidden.

I will take your advise and just find out what the derm doc says and go from there.

Thanks again for responding. As much as this thing SUCKS, this site takes a huge edge off things.

yup thats right the #'s are interchangeable to the location.

and maybe its just canker sores? but get a test anyway atleast u will know which type it is. and you can ask anyone. you can go to a regular doctor, a dentist, even your derm could help you-- ((gyno/ reg doc/ and derm for genital issues to)). if not they can advise you which doctor to go to.

and as long as ur not hiding it from sexual partners> then do what you feel. but personaly, hiding might cause a even bigger issue, personaly/ emotionaly etc.

To give some context I hve been suffering with this for the last 6/7 years this came about after I had varicella zoster on the inside of my body a week after I started getting clusters of spots on the top of my buttock they are not painful as such can be itchy at times but majority of the time I don’t feel it when I have an outbreak. I’ve been to various doctors who say it’s a fungal skin infection or a bacterial skin infection. I’ve asked if it’s herpes but they will say it’s not without even testing it.

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us
