How do we do it!????

so I am recently diagnosed.

My boyfriend was super distant when I told him. And we're still unsure if he has it or what my blood tests look like.

We were making out last nite. We've been clear about what we can and can't do, but mostly b/c i'm ending a outbreak.

I told him I really wanted to go down on him. He was like, yeah I thought that's like all we can do. I said, no b/c we're not sure if he has it and I don't want it in my mouth!

He was bummed. I was bummed.

Besides the frustration and lack of being able to satisfy eachother, what can we do?! to please eachother.

And when after an outbreak is it ok to start having sex again? I mean how does everyone do this? If he's got it and i've got it, do we use condoms? I'm feeling really uneducated here. But feel like I can deal w/ the rest.

any advice is much appreciated.

you can use condoms, bj- with condoms> thats what flavored is for.

if he has it, and u have it- then condoms arent really nessesary, cause u both have it already.

you have to really take some risks, and be ok with the outcomes that might happen if you have sex unprotected. you might get it some place else, he might get it, etc.

and i waited a few weeks after a outbreak before having sex to make sure it was all gone.

thanks. I feel like things will work themselves out... I mean really we're just waiting for our test results.....

We had sex quite a bit. I mean we've been together 4 mos... And sex was almost a daily thing. I have no problem not doing it. I think he's ok w/ it. but at the same time I'm 27 and the sex has just been getting better and better.... And he likes to please me. That's something we'll have to adjust to.

Is it evil that I hope he has it too so we can still have unprotected sex? I mean really. It sounds kinda ignorant, but I still am coming to terms w/ this.

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us

To give everyone confidence that it wasn’t herpes related and conclude as the doctor did that it was a dermatitis issue to refer back to the dermatologist to continue with investigations.
