sciatica

How to make this short?

I have severe sciatica pain upon occassion and have for many years. It never made sense since I had no accident . . . to blame it on.

I was diagnosed with hsv January 07. I believe I have had hsv since at least June of 96.

Last month I was researching hsv on line and was absolutely shocked to find that the sciatic pain I have struggled with could be from hsv. The sciatic was at it's worst in the first year I was infected with the hsv and since then has become considerably more manageable.

I will add that I was in a bad car accident last year and it never caused this type of pain.

This week the sciatica came back. I had a very busy stressful two weeks of work and I think that is the trigger. This week along with the back pain I have had head and neck pain and feelings like pins and needles in my genital area but no blisters. I upped the acyclovir today and I am going to use one of the Thermacare wraps on my back for the remainder of the day.

So yes I believe hsv can cause back pain - it is the only explanation I have found for my sciatic pain.

My pain starts in my lower back and shoots down one side towards my toes. It hurts to take steps when I've been sitting or laying down for a while. It hurts to turn myself at night and causes me to cry out. I find that if I keep a pillow tucked between my knees when I sleep it helps immobilize me from moving around too much. It is worse in the morning and improves throughout the rest of the day once I get walking. Is this similar to what you are experiencing?

can anyone tell me if they have this back pain all the time or just during outbreaks? if i have this backpain all the time i will no longer be able to do my job at work. i am a sales associate at walmart and i work in the pets department so i'm constantly lifting heavy things or pulling pallets of dog food out onto the floor. i hope i don't have this pain all the time i really enjoy my job and hope i don't have to try and find a new one.

I don't have it all of the time. Until recently hardly ever. I upped my antivirals and I think it is helping. I am also wearing a heat wrap around my lower back. I love the Thermacare Wraps.

Way back when I didn't know this could be from hsv I had a hard time with the pain. I did better to stay on my feet because sitting made it worse. I continued to work all of those years and lived with the periodic painful episodes that would last about a week at a time. I used 800 mg. motrins for pain. Hot epsom salt baths may be helpful. Drink more water - it flushes your organs and helps to eliminate toxins.

Finally I went the alternative medicine route and got incredible immediate pain relief from a therapy called "Bowen".

Restricting dietary intake of arginine rich foods and increasing Lysine may help along with other immune building practices.

To give some context I hve been suffering with this for the last 6/7 years this came about after I had varicella zoster on the inside of my body a week after I started getting clusters of spots on the top of my buttock they are not painful as such can be itchy at times but majority of the time I don’t feel it when I have an outbreak. I’ve been to various doctors who say it’s a fungal skin infection or a bacterial skin infection. I’ve asked if it’s herpes but they will say it’s not without even testing it.

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us
