how to take you meds

I am prescribed Acyclovir to take only at time of outbreak. Seeing as I am now in a relationship, I was wanting to take it as a daily daily suppressant. What are you experiences with taking them daily or just in time of need? Is there anyone who has tried both methods. Is one better than the other? My doctor is great but basically said the decision is my own and hasn't given me much info (assuming she just may not know). Anything would be great, thank you :)

I've done both. One isn't really better than the other. Taking them daily obviously costs more, and it can help prevent obs instead of just waiting for them to show up to treat them.

Hey dina's cat , I have always taken antivirals, and never passed my h. If you do decide to take them daily please make sure your doctor keeps tabs on your organs. I get yearly blood functions test, I am an organ donor, usually when I get my girly exams. It will show levels of organs functions and let your doctor know your levels. Make sure you get a baseline levels test done now so they have something to compare these test with. Aside from that, I'm a happy camper and have only had two outbreaks ever. Hugs, keep us posted. Truly, Ace :hithere:

I believe it’s type 2 but apparently either strain can be found either end! So I will hopefully clarify all this in the coming week!

@WilsoInAus https://forums.herpesopportunity.com/topic/8577-unprotected-sex-and-transmission-of-hsv2-with-no-symptoms/ Here they say we can shed the hsv2 virus up to 35% of the time. We are far from the 4% transmission rate. That rate is not for everyone. So if i always have prodome and i shed more than others my transmission rate is a lot higher than just 4% so please stop spreading false information.

Unsure whether this is something to be worried about or not. Coming up to 3 weeks now. I’ve been to a sexual health clinic and they said there’s nothing to worry about. I haven’t had sex in 6 months I’ve also never done it without a comdom. There is no fluid in them even when I’ve tried to squeeze them. There’s also 2 of them near my belly button
