concerned... Met a guy with H

I met a guy, and well we kinda had just started hanging out and I noticed he had some pills on his dresser. He had three bottles of the same thing, so it made me curious. I had heard the name before it was aciclovyr... ( c/s) I had had a rash on my neck about 6 months back and my docter thought it was chicken pox and he put me on it to be safe...

So I see these pills and I know what they are, I looked it up online just to be sure and I told him I knew what they were...And I asked him about it. I'm a blunt person and he admitted it to me... And explained he and his ex had had sex and he thought maybe it was from the rough sex but he got tested and it came back positive. She says she didn't give it to him and so ya he is just starting to cope with it. It's all new to him.

Well I told him it didn't matter to me. That he is not herpes he is who he is and that it is just an annoyance . I don't judge him because he can't help what has happened to him. I'm sure it happens to the best of us. my sisters best friend has had it for a long time, she has only had one breakout and never given it to anyone... she's fine with it... Im also very educated on stds i read up on alot of things due to boredom... i feel it is good to be educated on everyday life...

Well I am concerned a little though. I don't think I have it. I have never really been tested for it and I did once about 6 years ago have something that would be like a breakout. But I thought it was an allergy. I had had sex with someone who used nair... and the next day I broke out... I was only 16 though and scared so i didnt get tested and it went away in about a week. I have never had another one and so I don't think i have it...

But it kinda scares me if he has it.and i don't.. He's a really cool guy, and sex to me is a big part of my life... as appartently was to him before hand...

he thinks it's beautiful i don't judge him.. Im the first girl he's had to tell and for me to be this ok with it , is that a good thing..?? in him learning to accept what he has.

i mean as much as it scares me it's something i could live with... i am a rather healthy person anyway... i dont go to the docter as much as i should but i never(knock on wood) get sick really either...

is sex with a condom making sure he isnt having a break out safe?? I also hate giving oral with a condom... i have never really been to worried about stds and never made an issue about them and I have been lucky in the past... should I be that way now... i dont really know what to think about this whole situation...

youve done the best thing by getting yourself clued up about it.

its an annoyance, and my girlfried (who does not have HSV) carry on as normal with me being extra vigilant, ive not had a break out since ive been with her and its seems she has not picked up the virus.

end of the day tho, nothing is 100%, theres always a risk.

i hope u can find away around it..

good for you for getting informed rather then jumping to conclusions about this person.

but to be honest, if u think uve had a break out before sound to me like u already have it.

id go get tested.

well for starters you might want to go get a herpes specific blood test and just find out if you did contract it all of those years ago. not everyone has subsequent ob's.

you can contract herpes even when using a condom but then again maybe you won't. It would be helpful to know if he has ever had a cold sore because it is herpes as well and can be transmitted through oral sex. It all can become a vicious cycle. so if he has oral cold sores he could give you genital hsv and if you give him oral sex you could get oral hsv which is why you want to be very careful and condoms are recommended. if his ob's are somewhere other than directly on his penis a condom won't prevent transmission. you don't want to engage in sexual contact of any kind during an active ob or even if he's feeling tingling etc which can signal one is coming.

one thing to find out is where his ob's are and if he has them frequently. You said that he is using the antivirals and that certainly helps. the virus is pretty active when the infection is newly acquired and as the immune system builds antibodies things often calm down.

https://imgur.com/a/cVi8yJY 2 weeks ago I had unprotected oral sex. Few days later I wake up with a stinging sensation in my urethra. I don't have any blisters, lesions or redness, my penis looks completely normal from the outside, but the stinging in my urethra is always there. Urinating doesn't make the pain worse. From the research I've done and how my body feels I'm pretty sure I caught genital hsv1. To make matters worse I think I transmitted it to my eyelid by touching my infected penis and then my eyelid which did develop a blister. Can anyone look at my lower eyelid and tell me if it looks anything like herpes?  I forgot to add that the blister is painless, but my eye is a bit watery. Other than that it's fine and my eyesight is good. Considering how this all developed in a matter of a week after I had unprotected sex it can't be much else than herpes..

Hey I see that they also sell the pill form in 100 mg and 500 mg form. Do you think this is as affective? They have the regular and extract version of the pill. Which would you think is the right one to get? And how many pills per day to get the same effect of say 16 seeds?

I had an IGG test  and the ranges were out of range and high  HSV 1 was 42 and HSV 2 was 19 so I guess it was accurate but the problem now is I can't figure out when or who I got it from. In 2018 to 2019 when I was with my ex I was STD tested but not sure if herpes was included but my ex was supposed to get tested but refused. I experienced some trauma with him and didn't date until a year and a half later so I'm confused. The guy I dated after the ex who didn't want to be tested I told them a week ago about my results he was trying to be there for me and understanding,I told him to get tested but to request a herpes blood test , because he had no noticeable lesions or bumps ever is what he said and I never noticed any on him now he has shut down all his social media and I can't reach him. Hoping he's okay, I feel bad because in 2018 I did have what I was told it was an abrasion that tingled but at my doctor the day I was tested they told me it wasn't herpes but I think it was only a visible diagnosis. I keep having it reoccur from time to time

Hello "FeelingLost".... your fears and concerns are understandable but, nothing you've described regarding the sexual encounter would cause you to contract herpes.... further, your symptoms are not herpes related.  Best of all, your doctor is correct, your results don't show any herpes here.  You can relax.... definitely have your GP take a look at things and see what might be causing the symptoms but, again, none of them are typical herpes related.  I wish you the best in terms of talking to your wife about this encounter.... hopefully she will understand and you both can work through this amicably.  We all make mistakes.... be careful not to beat yourself up too hard over this.... you can become so racked with guilt that you start imagining physical symptoms.  Best of luck.... and take care..... come back to the site if you have questions.
