december-recently diagnosed

hello, i haven't been officially diagnosed yet.... waiting for my lab results to come back. but all the symptoms i am having seem to be hsv syptoms. i first started having these sytoms about 5 days ago. there a little annoying, however honestly i have to say that they are not too bad for this being my first out break. there is some tingleing, burning, and a little itching. there is also a little swelling but the most annoying symptom is the fact that i feel like i have to pee every five minutes. there is no burning when i pee, therefore i don't think its a UTI, on top of my herpes out break. In all the articles i have read about hsv symptoms, i haven't read anything about having the urge to pee often.....Is this a symptom others exsperience? Also, i got this outbreak the same week as my period, which i read can cause out breaks sometimes, however, i completely skiped my period. Have others exsperienced this?

your symptoms sound consistent with hsv but a test result is the best way of knowing. A blood test will tell you if the virus is present and a swab culture of blisters etc. will confirm a location unless you know for sure where the ob is occuring.

many sufferers report urinary discomfort. hormones or the start of your period can trigger ob's as can pregnancy. I have not heard of hsv causing someone to miss their period altogether. common reasons to miss a period are pregnancy, hormone disorders and sometimes annorexia if your weight is dangerously low.

As for other reasons to have urinary urgency a uti is one and being dehydrated may be another. The other being your kidney function and only a dr can tell you if you have something going on with your kidney.

I recommend that you drink more fresh water, this is only a good thing, of course, not in excess. You might want to drink some cranberry juice to keep your bladder healthy while this is happening and to reduce the chances of getting a uti.

I also wanted to note that some people don't know they have hsv because they don't get an initial ob. Each person's immune system is very different and it will effect the frequency and severity of ob's some people can go years with the virus and never have an ob until something comes along to trigger it such as an emotional stressor or hormone change. If you think this is hormone related you need to see your dr or at least let them know you've missed your period - that is if it never shows up versus just being late.

To give some context I hve been suffering with this for the last 6/7 years this came about after I had varicella zoster on the inside of my body a week after I started getting clusters of spots on the top of my buttock they are not painful as such can be itchy at times but majority of the time I don’t feel it when I have an outbreak. I’ve been to various doctors who say it’s a fungal skin infection or a bacterial skin infection. I’ve asked if it’s herpes but they will say it’s not without even testing it.

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us
