to date my gyno will not admit it. However, I get back aches, hip nerve pain, flu like symptoms and my vagina swells shut. I don't usually hurt.. just worried about the chronic inflammation mainly.

Hey I been having the same symptoms. Burning fight outside the vagina entrance I still haven't been diagnosed with gential herpes. Just oral hsv 1. I always get bv and yeast Infections right after period. But no so r e's just pain and dischar6. Doctors say I have vaginitis and volvdynia. I want to enjoy sex not be afraid. My question is can h cause I need naw pain just on the entrance to my vaginal?

@[uSER=54652]Vday04[/uSER] we have the same symptoms. i want to know more about this. i kept going to planned parenthood and they keep telling me its bv and then yeast. but its been going on for 6 months now. i went to a Doc and had a gig test herpes select specific for genital herpes. and iam positive. But I'm still confused because i did not see actual blisters or sores. and my symptoms are burning swelling like its a friction burn my haemorrhoids was swelling too and it hurts . but no blisters. the metronidazole , diflucan and boric acid helped but it keeps coming back thats why i insisted on getting the blood test.

But now i have read a lot of articles online about having a false positive test. my values are 1.99 which is low positive . I am hopeful but i can't just shake the feeling thats something is wrong down there. pls do share what other symptoms u have.

Iam gonna ask another test this Friday aim so nervous .

Please anyone following this thread please share your symptoms on having internal outbreaks.

I have been experiencing this for a year now. Painful burning in the inside I would go see my doctor and it's always bv or a yeast infection. I have saw 4 doctors and they all tell me vaginitis. I'm getting a skin biopsy in a couple of weeks. I can't even use a tampon. I'm swollen shut down ther. The only thing :(:(that.has.gave me some relief is probiotics and a Luke warm bath helps.stop the burning and swelling. I have no blisters just.internal pain right after my period. I'm going to see a skin specialist in july. I don't think I can hold off that long. I really want my VA Jay Jay back

Me too . but mine doesn't swell shut. its like a numb on the labia majora and anus. and i feel like something scratching inside my vulva when i look down there there nothing. this is crazy . Iam so tired it always hurt. everyday is herpes like this? hurts all the time?

Ladies, I have been having this for over 3+ years now and it does get better. I won't say it has been easy because if you read my posts on here you would see I have had some crappy crappy times with it. I just keep trying different things. I believe a combo of metformin to help my hormones straighten out (type II diabetic AND PCOS), boric acid vaginal inserts, vitamin C and b12 supplements have helped me tremendously. But each person is different. I will tell you that sperm and sex will throw off the PH of your vagina.. as will your period, too much sugar, etc.. Plus the stress level you are causing yourself also doesn't help. I know it is easier to say calm down than to actually calm down. I try to meditate through the week. Things are looking better down there for me. Less issues. Though I keep getting a yeast infection but that is because I am a diabetic and if I eat too much junk it throws my sugars off, I pee more sugar out, hence yeast infection. Lately, my worst time is right before my period and right after. If I pay attention and up my dosage of vitamin C, B12 and lysine I can counter a herpes breakout. Unfortunately, my first sign is extreme tiredness which causes me to not realize what is going on until days into it most of the time.

DangitAl i think ur right whenever i have sex thats when it happens. Are u sure u have herpes? I cant believe that i am i want to know for sure . I know are case are diffrent bcoz we dont have a typical outbreak..maybe im still in denial but i have read theres alot of people that are misdiagnosed out there and they believe thery have herpes when they dont. Did u get the western blot test? Im really having have a hard time about my diagnosis i just cant believe it and my doctor is not helping at all. The only thing thats helping me right now is chatting here on the website and also the forum here. Im still praying its a false positive but its hard to understand why yeast an bv comes back everymonth. Altho the nurse really saw yeast everytime i go my blood test said for igg hsv2 specific is positive. Doctor game me valtrex but dont know when to take it since my OB is internal . How do u do it? Pls help me

ghostcasper... I am very positive about my diagnosis. It was done off of the sore and a blood test. From what I have come to understand, the misdiagnosis is usually from visual diagnosis by the doctor.. not blood test or scrape test of the sores. The actual test can come back false negative but not false positive. I have no idea the science behind it.

I have all of the prodome symptoms and have had external breakouts now too. I prefer the external to internal even though it is more painful. Heals quicker in my opinion. The only real relief I get is when I get the BV and yeast infection under control. I would recommend you get the following checked: hormones, thyroid, and if diabetes runs in your family then a fasting sugars. Part of my problem is I am a diabetic and my urine passes high concentrations of sugar..translation.. yeast infection, then BV and then a breakout.

The sex is a trigger for several reasons.

1) I have always been reactive to semen.. counterintuitive of my body to have a kid.. but there it is.

2) sex for a woman means she has microscopic tears within and around the vagina due to the very nature of sex. I don't care how much lube you use.

3) some lubes use glycerine.. it will cause a breakout quicker than anything for me. I personally use regular virgin coconut oil. I like the scent, antibacterial. However, I am not on birth control. Why be on something when I am not having sex.. lol. I won't be having sex until I am in a committed relationship. So when we reach that point, if I find someone, we will figure out if condoms or what.

I am sure there are other factors. The biggest deal is seeing what your triggers are and prepare ahead of time. Mine are nuts and basically any high arginine content foods and, of course, msg. MSG is basically in everything. I quit eating my favorite ..Chinese. Though I have found on times when I KNOW I will be eating triggers, I just go ahead and pop around 2000-3000mg lysine before or as eating the food that I KNOW is a trigger. Usually works. I haven't thought about it for sex, but maybe it would work as a preventive if taking a large enough dosage maybe 30 minutes before sex?

I have found my biggest tell or prodome (indications of breakout coming) is my level of horniness. I know.. it's crazy but true. If I reach a point of absolute can't stand it anymore and MUST have sex and feel like a sex addict.. I realize I need to start taking prescriptions and herbal remedies. Once in a blue moon I catch it before breaking out.

Other times, I go the opposite and just get extremely tired as in chronic fatigue, flu-like symptoms. Get stupid.. literally I feel the IQ dumbing down. I am not considered a genius but I have common sense and am a quick learner. Sadly, by the time I realize what is happening it is too late. I get a breakout before I make the connection. Did I mention it dumbs me down? o_O

I have found that lately the boric acid is the best for the yeast infection!! I cannot say enough about it. But, I found that 7 days 2x daily vaginal insert isn't enough. I would almost say 7 full days 2x daily and then 1-3 times a week for a several weeks. Make sure to chat with the dr about how many vaginal inserts you actually get. Add it up and right it down and confirm with them. I estimated around 50-60. That way, if your period sets it back you can start over without a new prescription. See if the dr will give you a 6 month supply of 50-60 and stock up on it like it is rare diamonds..lol.

I almost always break out monthly either right before or right after period. Now that I am off the birth control, I am not always sure when the period is coming. But I got off of that for several reasons. 1) to see if it helped the breakouts lesson. I would say it lessoned the breakouts but didn't really stop them. 2) quite honestly, just really tired of taking them and not having a sex drive. I have been on birth control, with exception of maybe 2-3 years, since I was 16. That is almost 27 years. I need to give my body a break. Plus, no boyfriend so why not?

The mental adjustment for this is hard. I say mourn the loss of the sexual freedom you had available.. regardless of whether you did use it or not. I mourned it as I did for losing a beloved family member.

Figure out how you can handle this emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually.

Can you handle not telling someone you have it and have sex with them anyway? (I can't).

What are you comfort level on telling others? (I have basically told a majority of my family).

How do you handle dating? (I was in a committed relationship up until almost 8-9 months ago so had not had to deal with it. Personally I tried the online positive date sites. Not that many on there from my area. Now, I am just trying to get back to a healthy mental and physical state. Taking care of myself because if I don't care about myself, why would anyone else?

This hasn't been easy for me because I am kind of a black/white kind of girl in regards to how I see things. I have had to learn a new way of thinking. There are shades of grey in life. In some ways, I have really grown since my diagnosis. I am a lot stronger than I thought I could be. I have also learned sometimes I just have to lay down and just rest even when I don't want to. I have to listen to my body and be more gentle with me. I quit being so damned naive.. ok, well I am trying to quit being so damned naive.. lol. I hate thinking people would willingly do this to another, but I have no control over that. What I can control is who I share myself with.

I believe in doctor visits and dr signed papers stating what they have/don't have before sex. Having HSV means you are even more susceptible to other STD/STIs just due to the fact that you may be already breaking out and not know it if it is internal. HSV isn't the worst thing to have, ya know? This is my only body I have and I need to treat it as precious.. because it is. He will need to earn my trust and we have to really know each other. Needless to say, I am single. :p And yes, I would like to find a great guy, but I am learning that I am a pretty good person myself. I am learning to love myself for the first time in my life. So, yea a rough life lesson, but, life goes on and so will I.

You would think it would follow the same rules of an external breakout.. but nooo.. mine seem to always come with BV and/or yeast infection... and I have had a swollen vagina for several months at a time, but I believe I am unique to that particular issue.

Hopefully something in it will help you. Sorry it rambles a bit, but I have been told it has helped others. Much better than it ever helped me.. lol. But I am just SUCH a lucky duck with my hot mess down there.

I will add this.. doctor recently gave me a borax vaginal insert prescription to knock out the yeast infection and it WORKED best of anything I have tried so far! (No sex during borax days or it burns his privates.. lol). You have to use a compound pharmacy (Adams Drugs for me) for borax prescription.

I think the major problem I am having is I cannot completely clear the yeast infection. The borax seemed to really ease my issue but I need to do about a weeks worth 2x daily and then 2x a week after that. Worth a try if other things don't work? I hope it can help you.

You can buy boric acid suppositories online.. Got mine from Amazon. I'm on weekly diflucin for my Yeast infections (and still get them). Ive had the boric acid handy, but haven't used it yet. Does it really work that well?

I am still wIting results of a swab and blood test but what I found was inside . No pain or anything .. No swelling that I am aware of . Trying to find photos of an ob internal us tough . Just trying to figure out if this is in fact what is going on ?

I have had chronic BV and yeast infections since HSV 2 diagnosis last fall. I'm now starting to piece the two together! This really helps.

Yesterday was the first time I noticed an "internal" outbreak. On my period and my vagina is so swollen I can barely fit a tampon. Very painful to touch inside and out. I'm wondering if I've been having internal outbreaks for months and just not realizing it-- hence the BV and yeast to boot. 

 

Been doing probiotics and peroxide, but haven't tried your mixture. I will attempt to alleviate these symptoms. It sucks!!! I miss being young, pure, and perfect in those lady parts let me tell you.

Hello everyone. For those of you who dont know there is a promising vaccine created by Rational Vaccines, called theravax. Dr. Halford has asked that we petition our local congressmen to bring the vaccine to america. I decided to start a petition that we can submit to congress to bring awareness to this condition they deem "no big deal." if everyone could please sign and share maybe we can all get one step closer to a normal life again.

Hello everyone, I recently published a petition to bring Dr. Bill Halford, CEO of Rational Vaccines to speak to congress on our behalf. After speaking with the participants of Phase I trials it has been brought to my attention that 65% of the participants went into remission. hey that was informative, i too had some similar symptoms along with lesions on my genitals. I was told i had BV and hsv. i researched for natural treatments since famcyclovir, and valtrex made me real sick with their side effects. My friend practices alternative medicine and she guided me to a website, which has amazing products to tackle this condition. The doctor helpline discussed my case and put me on a combination of herbs like hypericum mysorense, Ashwagandha , Phyllanthus niruri and some more along with some homeopathic nosodes. Ive been taking this for 2 months now and my lesions have cleared up. My swelling has subsided too.

I have not tried it so you might want to do your own research.

I have found a web site that says it is safe for vaginal use and the Dr.’s TV said that it was a good vaginal lubricant during sex.

Just make sure you don't use it with condoms! Learned that one from experience

@dangitinAL hi! I had vaginal swelling and itchiness last month. N i had no idea why. What caused this herpes? You said u have a lot swelling? Why is this happenig. How long have u had it for? U sAid you have flu symptoms? Still or only at 1st outbreak?  My whole body seems so fucked up since this past year ive been diagnosed. Drs dont seem to know anytning. They keep saying all these other symptoms rnt from herpes but i think they are. I really dont know how much longer i can live like this. Im constantly feeling sick and constantly going to dr spending tons of $ n they keep saying they dont know. Idk how much longer i can go on like this

I do not have the internal, but am grateful for this post not only for its wealth of info, but because it occasionally makes me laugh out loud.  Not much of that on a forum such as this and greatly appreciated.

On Thanksgiving I had some pretty bad flu like symptoms and felt generally awful for weeks. Around Christmas I had extreme vaginal discomfort, pain on urination, some retention, swollen lady bits, the whole nine yards. I assumed it was a UTI - took some cranberry supplements and felt better about two weeks later. Fast forward to last week and I developed what I thought was a spider bite on the side of my butt cheek. Four days later - it developed  itchy blisters and is still present a week later. I contacted my doctor who never responded (typical of her) and went through HerpAlert to get started on antivirals. My boyfriend knows everything going on and is super nonchalant - going so far as to call me a hypochondriac. I’m fairly certain of the source given my negative bloods prior to this relationship. And I’m not angry - if he is (+) I really doubt he knew it. But I do have questions. 

It seems to me that those Christmas urinary symptoms may have been a primary outbreak with these visible blisters being a secondary. My question is, would lesions normally move from internal to a buttcheek lesion? And should I expect them to move again? Or will they typically reappear in the same location in the future? 

Also, would you suggest demanding that he take an HSV test? He doesn’t believe he has it, but I haven’t had sex or been intimate (even a kiss) with anybody else since we met a year and a half ago. I told him I would go on suppressive therapy to protect him, but am I right to want to know that he needs protecting first? I’m just hesitant to get started on a daily pill without knowing it’s necessity. And then I’m concerned that if by some chance he is negative, that he will think I wasn’t loyal or was dishonest, which isn’t the case.

      The chapstick is called Docoshield and it is on Amazon. Just wanted to pass this along! I have been using this and it brings me a lot of comfort and it has excellent reviews. They also made this chapstick with lysine in it. Hope this helps anyone who needs it!

      I just stared dating someone who does not have HSV.How long after the sore is healed should I wait before having sex?  I’ve had HSV2 for over 10 years. I rarely have outbreaks going months even years until recently. When I do I get some tingles and one sore in the same spot. But recently, In the last 3 months it’s happened twice. 🤦🏼‍♀️

      If you want to know whats going on when applying it, this was the only study I found describing it. Hard to read through as very technical, but am copy paste parts I found of use.       Hi Kurdt- I was thinking back in 2018-2019 there was several threads from viral frog that he was applying a 2% solution very frequently. Like several times a week. From what I gather- it didnt work for him at the time. I think too much applied caused immune chaos or something.  The most recent Square X trial was terminated but this was the dosing frequency that was used in the trial below: I was planning on using Group C protocol. Group A is most frequent.
