I dont kow if i have HSV-1 .... I got a cold sore about a month and a half ago and it went away eventually. Now the corner of my lip slightly itches and tingles. sometimes it will go away but then it comes back. My lips get really chaped. I was taking L-Lysine 500 mg twice a day, Zinc 50 mg once a day, vitamin C 1000mg once a day, echinacea golden seal comples 2 pills a day (to many pills at one time is bad?). I was taking all of these together and got super sick.. It comletely messed up my immune system.... i stop taking all the pills and felt better but still sick. I started exercising and felt better but then after still felt slugish... I started applying herpecin L and seems to help a little but i still wonder if the tingling and the itching will ever go away? or will it get worse....? I bought a tube of abreva just in case.... Im really scared so I would highly appreciate everyones input...

COLD SORES ARE HERPES

yes you have herpes. it might be type 1, or type2 thats up to you to go to the doctor and get a test to find out.

the other lip symptoms you are feeling, can def be outbreaks.

to many pills arent bad, sounds like you were taking just enough. if you take them all at the exact same time, yea that will prob get you sick- try and take a few throught the day, like the lysine in the am, vit c noon, echinacea at dinner, and zinc at night ( minerals should be taken in the pm)

well cold sores are oral herpes. tell her you have oral herpes. plain and simple. anything that happens in the mouth area is oral, so yea whats going on with your tounge can def be a herpes issue.

it might get worse, or it might just stay like that you really cant predict it.

i hope you told her before she became you gf that you atleast get coldsores. cause if you have gone down on her, she is at risk for genital.

COLD SORES ARE HERPES

I did not know that Cold sores where herpes..... :-( i remmember i got them when i was a kid when i would step on the floor when it was cold. My parents would get them once in a while 2..... I would probly get one every year but not as painful as this last time nor with the tingly feeling or itchyness.

It's possible that she gets them too and you exchanged viruses and that is why it is so much worse. or hormones and stress and diet etc. can all make stuff worse.

HSV is very contagious. here is a link you need to read.

http://www.herpes-coldsores.com/herpes_simplex_1_and_2.htm

Once you digest that one and understand what's going on read this one for some help with what you're experiencing.

http://www.herpes-coldsores.com/immune-system.htm

Read the information in those links and then sit down and have a talk with your girlfriend and discuss the situation. I know you'd want the same respect from her in return. It's important to both of you.

All the best to you.

well then its very possible your parents are the ones who gave them to you.

coldsores, no matter the size, or frequence is still herpes.

now, if there was only a commerical that educated people of this, we wouldnt have this issue

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us

To give everyone confidence that it wasn’t herpes related and conclude as the doctor did that it was a dermatitis issue to refer back to the dermatologist to continue with investigations.
