depressed, lonely and searching for hope

I was diagnosed with herpes May 22nd. My 1st outbreak started May 17th and I look fine but i still feel funky down there. Is this ever going to go away. Anyway, since then, this weekend actually my boyfriend and I broke up (the one i wanted to spend the rest of my life with ...lol ...woman, we're so sappy and clingy sometimes) anyway he tested negative so I must have had this thing for a long time because prior to him i didn't have sex for yrs and that was protected and prior to that is was yrs. but when i was young i probably had more partners than the average person ...i guess. Anyway, here I am missing the love of my life still have a constant reminder that this thing is still living between my legs and feeling like I will never love or have sex again. Thank God I deleted my boyfriends phone number from my phone (who know anyones numbers now that we have cell phones w/names right) or I would of called him to beg him to come back and that i would imagine has a more painful aftermath than i care to ever know (again ..lol, WOMAN ...BYW JK about the woman thing, i should not speak for all woman just myself so MYSELF!!) I've been taking 500 mg valtrex once a day, that's what my doctor suggest and the lysine like 1500 mg a day. I'm trying to cut caffine but serioulsy, do i have to? Any suggestions, or if you can relate or just want to make fun of me ...whatever! ...I'd appreicate the feed back. Thanks you! You sound like an awesome chick with a great sense of humor. If your man is shooting through, give the situation time, if he's the one it will work out and if he is not a new adventure begins.

one thing for sure; nobody on this site is going to make fun of you. i was recently diagnosed in early may 2007. the guy i was with still wanted to have sex with me and knew quite a bit about herpes, more than i did until i started to educate myself. i have since broken it off with him, and assume he is the one who gave this to me, but i do not know for sure; how does anybody know for sure?? anyway, this is the place to learn, get support and meet new, kind people. hang in there, the more you learn, the more you will be able to handle this. the pain/discomfort should subside, i had pain/discomfort/soreness up until early last week and ob was the first day of April 2007. i am still not feeling 100%, but am 100% better than i was on may 1st, 2007; make sense???

I haven't yet been diagnosed, but have had a blood test that has been negative. I broke out approx 1.5 to 2 weeks after being with my now girlfriend.

Not sure who gave it to how...and does it really matter? She hasn't showed any symptoms from what I know since we have only been together for 9 months.

I'm thinking that I possibly received it from a past relationship, but not sure. I first broke out in the genital area, but then a few weeks later on my upper arms...left and right, and upper thighs...left and right. It was all mild compared to what I have seen in pictures on here, but irritating and painful in the beginning.

Maybe the tests I had were a lil to late after breakout to be positive, so I plan to test again.

Anyway, my girlfriend and I are still together I think basically because it's not a killer ailment, but a uncomfortable one at times.

I find myself wondering about every mosquito bite now.

When you say you broke out on your arms, etc. what does that mean? A set of sores?

They looked like bites from ants or fleas I guess, but I'm not sure as to what it was actually related to the herpes, but I have seen pictures of the same of someone with HSV-2.

So, I am not really sure if that was related or not at this time. Never had anything like that before, and it was shortly after the other breakout.

Thanks. I think I'll stick with mine being mosquito bites, esp since I just went out in tall grass.

If you've been outside at all, I know there's a thing called "chiggers" that a neighbor of mine got a few years back. looked like nasty bug bites, more angry than mosquito bites and itched him like crazy. He got the during a weekend fishing/camping trip. The bites covered his legs and groin area.
