anxiety can it trigger hsv2

I have anxiety, so I notice (well i think) when i stress it makes the herpes become more active i guess..well i was diagnosed with HSV2 april 25, of this year. let me get to the point. i was just wondering if anyone else, has experienced these sypmtoms when they stress, like muscles become stiff and achy, tiredness, (to where you just feel like you can't get out of bed), yesterday, it just felt like my motor functions are impaired, my muscles ache really bad, to where it bothers me to move around, i feel slowed down, and my thinking is off, i'm forgetting things. but i know that's from having depression.

mulatta,

stress is a human condition that effects our immune system. it is impossible to not have some kind of stress in our lives whether it come from environmental factors or from health issues. our immune system exists kinda like a silent army there to protect us by identifying things that will harm us. when we have stress such as anxiety our bodies exhibit different responses such as blood pressure fluctuations etc. sensing this our immune system will send it's best defense to the organ or area of the body that MOST needs the defense for us to ultimately survive.

Our conscious brain may think that our immune system should be handling the hsv for example but our internal computer sees the bigger picture and will protect our heart or vascular system or our brain first. We need our organs to live but we can live with a little discomfort from hsv.

The ultimate defense against hsv is to get our body so healthy and working so well that our organ function is at max and then our immune system can concentrate on little things like hsv.

make sense?

other then just feeling run down from stress, stress and anxiety play a big role in my obs, its like my main trigger. especially around finals time at school.

i have tmj, pretty much when im stressed out my mouth stays closed- cause of the pain in my jaw> which then leads to a ob so i can pretty much predict one if i wanted to

TMJ sucks. My son had to have an osteotomy because his tmj became so bad it turned into degenerative jaw disease. I hope you've seen a specialist or even a prosthedontist sometimes they can help.

The biggest things to help with stress are to cut stuff out of your life that is unnecessary and give yourself time to get a good nights sleep, drink plenty of water and exercise. It's amazing what you can let go of when you're working out.

But stress absolutely gets me. Especially the kind where I have emotional responses such as sorrow or depression.

ive gone to a tmj specialist, told me well you can pay$$$$ for the guard or take it like a man lol. so far im taking it like a man w/ a big heating pad. but some days its just out right horrible and i figure when im older and if it gets worse ill have to do something drastic.

WaxedWrong - for the tmj I'd seriously see a specialist especially if you are in pain. The surgeon who worked with us was a maxillofacial specialist. I am curious if you ever had orthodontics for a bite problem?

By the time we figured out what was going on with my son his jaw joint was nearly gone and they do not regenerate and joint replacement is rarely successful. In the end this cost almost $100K. He had his surgery when he was 19. Now it's perfect.

mulatta,

i was recently diagnosed also, 1st week of may 2007. i had an ob, went to the doc, no visible signs of anything, took blood, three days later i got the dreadful phone call with the positive results. it is now june 11, 2007 and i still do not feel "normal'. i am uncomfortable, sore, back aches like crazy, muscle twitches in my thighs, itching sensations (they have subsided quite a bit, thank God). i have been taking the recommended vitamins and herbs and feel like they may have helped a bit, but i just figured it is the miserable virus playing hide and seek in my body. i am thinking we will again, soon hopefully, feel normal again.

i never noticed a bite problem(except for when im having a episode), i dont grind my teeth more of just keep my jaw clenched alot. - i was at the specialist a few months ago, when i was having a bad one, and they took some xrays and the only thing he told me was i had to get my wisdom teeth removed. 100k, ya im a unemployed student, theres no way i can come up with that kind of $$.

ya, this whole thing "symptoms", is draining me of energy. my arms and legs just feel achy all the time, then comes the itching and tingling, the only thing, the valtrax is doing is keeping from getting sores externally, but internally i'm suffering..........eh eventually, things will die down, and my symptoms won't be as bad as i learn to deal with this psychologically

I am just coming to the end of my 2nd OB, although the sores are healing well, i feel so drained,i have nothing to give to anything, but i am finding early nights beneficial(this morning felt i hadn't had any sleep, i am so tired) everything is so much effort.

Try and rest as much as you can,a warm bath,a few early nights, eat and drink healthier, just give in to what your body wants.

Sometimes depression can make a person feel tired and have body aches.

Maybe you need to rent a comedy and have a good laugh...get some endorphins (sp?) going...A good workout helps a Lot too.

hope you feel better!

i dread the thought of working out and getting damp in the groin area. still feeling too uncomfortable to have to deal with that. as far as laughing; i plan on meeting a friend tonight for a drink and a laugh before i go home to my second full time job (mom and housekeeper)!!!!. music is also a wonderful medicine for me!

https://imgur.com/a/cVi8yJY 2 weeks ago I had unprotected oral sex. Few days later I wake up with a stinging sensation in my urethra. I don't have any blisters, lesions or redness, my penis looks completely normal from the outside, but the stinging in my urethra is always there. Urinating doesn't make the pain worse. From the research I've done and how my body feels I'm pretty sure I caught genital hsv1. To make matters worse I think I transmitted it to my eyelid by touching my infected penis and then my eyelid which did develop a blister. Can anyone look at my lower eyelid and tell me if it looks anything like herpes?  I forgot to add that the blister is painless, but my eye is a bit watery. Other than that it's fine and my eyesight is good. Considering how this all developed in a matter of a week after I had unprotected sex it can't be much else than herpes..

Hey I see that they also sell the pill form in 100 mg and 500 mg form. Do you think this is as affective? They have the regular and extract version of the pill. Which would you think is the right one to get? And how many pills per day to get the same effect of say 16 seeds?

I had an IGG test  and the ranges were out of range and high  HSV 1 was 42 and HSV 2 was 19 so I guess it was accurate but the problem now is I can't figure out when or who I got it from. In 2018 to 2019 when I was with my ex I was STD tested but not sure if herpes was included but my ex was supposed to get tested but refused. I experienced some trauma with him and didn't date until a year and a half later so I'm confused. The guy I dated after the ex who didn't want to be tested I told them a week ago about my results he was trying to be there for me and understanding,I told him to get tested but to request a herpes blood test , because he had no noticeable lesions or bumps ever is what he said and I never noticed any on him now he has shut down all his social media and I can't reach him. Hoping he's okay, I feel bad because in 2018 I did have what I was told it was an abrasion that tingled but at my doctor the day I was tested they told me it wasn't herpes but I think it was only a visible diagnosis. I keep having it reoccur from time to time

Hello "FeelingLost".... your fears and concerns are understandable but, nothing you've described regarding the sexual encounter would cause you to contract herpes.... further, your symptoms are not herpes related.  Best of all, your doctor is correct, your results don't show any herpes here.  You can relax.... definitely have your GP take a look at things and see what might be causing the symptoms but, again, none of them are typical herpes related.  I wish you the best in terms of talking to your wife about this encounter.... hopefully she will understand and you both can work through this amicably.  We all make mistakes.... be careful not to beat yourself up too hard over this.... you can become so racked with guilt that you start imagining physical symptoms.  Best of luck.... and take care..... come back to the site if you have questions.
