Type 1 genital confirmed a week ago and now I have an ob orally

Last week my test results showed that although my blood is not positive I have type 1 genital. A few days ago I noticed my throat was a little sore. Kind of like the scratchy feeling I got as a kid when I had tonsillitis or strep throat. I thought it would go away, but it's just getting worse and harder to swallow. Yesterday I looked at the back of my throat in the mirror and sure enough there are bumps there.

I have an appointment with my doctor a week from tomorrow. Should I wait until I see her then or should I do something sooner? I'm not sure what she could do for me. Will valtrex help? I just finished my 10 day prescription. Is there anything else she can prescribe to lessen the pain? Since this is my first oral ob, will it last 10 days?

i would call the doc who gave you the first 10, say your having another episode and cant get in till next week and would like another round or enough to get through it.

i called my doctor

i called my doctor and she said she'd never heard of an ob in the throat and to go see my general practitioner. Is this true?? I don't know what else the bumps and pain could be from.

It is quite possible that you got your genital infection at the same time as your oral infection and you're just now getting an oral ob.

If you performed oral sex on the person who gave you the genital infection this would make sense.

But it is also possible that they are totally unrelated and since your immune system is compromised from the hsv you may have come down with something else.

I'd definitely go see your primary dr and get this checked out. In the mean time there are sore throat sprays like Cloroseptic that may help with the pain as well as otc pain relievers and oral rinses you can either purchase or mix a teaspoon of table salt with warm water and gargle with it several times daily.

its possible that those bumps in your throat arent herpes. As a child i used ot get chronic strep throats and they look like white pussy blisters on the back of your throat. so dont jump the gun go get tested.

To give some context I hve been suffering with this for the last 6/7 years this came about after I had varicella zoster on the inside of my body a week after I started getting clusters of spots on the top of my buttock they are not painful as such can be itchy at times but majority of the time I don’t feel it when I have an outbreak. I’ve been to various doctors who say it’s a fungal skin infection or a bacterial skin infection. I’ve asked if it’s herpes but they will say it’s not without even testing it.

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us
