Hi,

I got a new herpes.....today it is worse then yesterday,is sore and annoying and it is not my fault. This hurts...a lot! It is a present from my husband who cheated on me two years ago...since then, forget about harmony in my marriage.

What can I do to get better? It seems to me that this OB is worse when I am depressed.Pls, help.

Leoness....I am so sorry for you as to how you contracted this. Does your hubby have symptoms or has he ever had an ob? I don't think it is beneficial to look at this, however, as blaming anyone or it being anyone's fault. Unfortunately, doing so doesn't change anything, and only keeps you in bondage to unforgiveness towards your hubby.

This is a virus that happens to attack the genitals or mouth. Just like a cold virus affects the respiratory system. No, you haven't done anything to deserve this virus, but neither did the rest of us! Having sex does not make any of us "bad" just because we got exposed to this microscopic enemy in the process. Your hubby was wrong to cheat on you (and subsequently expose you to this), but the virus took over from there. Have you and your hubby gone to counseling for the infidelity or did you just find out? Your marriage does NOT have to be over, but you both need to be committed to healing past this.

Read the posts under Treatment in this site....you will find very valuable info about what supplements/vitamins are proven to be very effective in keeping this virus under control. Try not to stress....only takes it longer to heal, as with any illness. I've been practicing deep breathing when I start feeling anxious.....seems to help! If your depression doesn't start to resolve soon, you might consider a short round of antidepressants.

Honey, I really am sorry you were cheated on.....I was too by my ex when I was pregnant with his kid. I am not trying to diminish that pain, but you've got several different issues going on, and it would be most prudent to separate them when trying to sort through them.

1) Your husband cheated on you.....get counseling for that. 2) You have an incurable, but maintainable disease.....educate yourself as much as you can about the disease and treatment available. 3) You seem tohave misguided feelings of shame regarding this disease(totally normal when first diagnosed)....it's a virus, nothing more. It sucks, but is NOT the end of the world.

I wish you luck....you can post to me privately if you have any further questions or need some individualized support!

There are a couple of things you can do to help relieve the pain and symptoms of an ob.

There are antiviral medications that your dr can prescribe as well as rx topical creams like Zovirax.

You can take otc pain relievers such as aspirin, tylenol and ibuprofen.

You want to keep the infected area clean and dry and avoid restrictive clothing that can rub and irritate the area. Depending on what you feel most comforable with you can consider getting some roomy cotton undergarments to wear or loose fitting lounge wear while stuff heals.

I personally advocate soaking in the tub with either epsom salts or the Aveeno Active Naturals bath powders for itchy skin. Another I've tried recently is the Domeboro astringent that you mix with water and make into a compress to help dry the sores so they can heal faster.

Here is a link with other helpful recommendations.

To give some context I hve been suffering with this for the last 6/7 years this came about after I had varicella zoster on the inside of my body a week after I started getting clusters of spots on the top of my buttock they are not painful as such can be itchy at times but majority of the time I don’t feel it when I have an outbreak. I’ve been to various doctors who say it’s a fungal skin infection or a bacterial skin infection. I’ve asked if it’s herpes but they will say it’s not without even testing it.

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us
