putting faces to the names

hey there, I dont know if this has come up in the forums yet. I was just wondering if anyone ever exchanges pics with other members, just to get an idea of what people look like. I think I'm a pretty decent looking guy, and I'm just curious of who else this affects. It may be a little shallow I know, but I'm sure some of you guys are curious as well. It's not as if any of us see eachother on a daily basis or anything, so whats the harm

Pics

In the User Control Panel you can choose both an avatar and a profile pic.

The "avatar" is visible beside every post you make whereas the "profile picture" is only available if you click on a person's name and display their profile.

A members profile can only be seen by other registered, logged in members.

Hope this helps ;)

it social suicide if you care what people think about you. its being proud, and having balls to post a picture.

let people recognize me, good for them, MAKES you question WHY they are looking on a herpes board in the first place MMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Avatar vs Profile Pic

Also, you can choose to display your photo in the profile picture section and not make it your avatar (the little image that is displayed beside each post you make).

Profile pics cannot be viewed by guests or people who are not logged in.

if you ever met me in person gutted... you would be able to tell I could care less what people think. I've always said, " You are either with me or against me." "Peoples opinions of me do not make my life better or worse." They are after all... just opinions.

Profile Fields

I have added a couple of different catergories to our profile sections today (i.e. marital status, sexual orientation). Of course, this information is not required and it is completely up to you if you want to provide it.

Just others' opinions? Is there ever anything else? Is it possibile to live in a world constituted entirely by your own ideas?

(Strong, are you saying that the idea to get sleeves and dye your hair black just came to you, and you only? Especially that combo? I don't suppose you own a white belt too...?)

I remember hearing about some disorder in my abnormal psych. class some 6 years ago, something about feeling like you're living in a film, your own film. I've experienced it a few times before. To be honest, it was great--I look forward to the next time it happens. But... it seems like I've lost track of what I was saying.

Anyhow...

Granted that someone I know would have to 1. Also have the herp to be here 2. Know that I have it anyhow, and know that I post here or 3. Be trying to dig up dirt on me--despite all of that, I have to agree with gutted. Paranoid or not, I'd rather keep my good looks to myself.

...and they are quite good. Some might even say fetching. Too bad.

Tehe.. and you Lintrus are as well entitled to your opinion...

Maybe you have something against emo but no... I do not own a white belt. lol... Do opinions include stereo typing?

Anyhow.. You can keep your good looks to yourself. Good for you.

Kwest, Waxedwrong, Strong and Christy ....

you are all pretty (yes I said PRETTY) and I think it is awesome that you do not fear posting your pictures on here. Wish I were as brave, but alas....I have to remain anonymous.

Posting pics puts a face not only on who our lovely post'ers are here, but all the different folks who have this virus as well. Makes it a bit more real, especially for those who DO NOT HAVE IT.

Again, I say kudos to you all!

Cheers!

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. @WilsoInAus could you kindly have a look :) also how long does it typically take for herpes blisters to develop into sores

Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us

To give everyone confidence that it wasn’t herpes related and conclude as the doctor did that it was a dermatitis issue to refer back to the dermatologist to continue with investigations.

Both a dermatologist and infectious disease doctor prescribed him HSV medicine. Why would they do that if this isnt "what herpes really does"?
