Vaginal Itching

Healing

Recommended Posts

My first outbreak was in March. I had a couple of tiny blisters, had redness, burning, itching but major body aches and flu symptoms. Since then, no major outbreak symptoms but pretty much constant itching and redness. Should I be taking another round of valtrex, is this considered an outbreak? If not, what is it? Any help wouldl be appreciated.

It sounds to me like you need suppressive therapy, like me. Daily dose of Valtrex wouldn't hurt for the first six months, so says my doc. In fact that is their policy.

Your symptoms seem similar to mine, since the redness down there has not totally gone away for me either. The other symptoms you describe could be caused by various problems that all have similar symptoms, so my suggestion is to go to your ob/gyn and get checked for yeast or other infections. They too can cause itching and burning.

Good luck.

Thanks Brucie. I am thinking I may need to start the valtrex for a while. I did a treatment for a yeast infection a couple of weeks ago but it only stopped the itching temporarily. I use an organic oil of a mix of tea tree and lavender and put it just on the outside of the labia, not internally and believe or not, although it burns a little initially, it is very soothing and stops the itching.

Seems like you are still going through your primery ob. I had all that plus major pressure in my vagina and tail bone for like a month. I was literally taking vicodine for the pain. Felt like I was 9 months pregnant again. I still itch to this day. I think out of paranoia maybe. It really really messes with your head.

I have had herpes for about 9 months now and i still itch all the time!! the only place is inside the entrance to my vagina. I am on valtrex for daily supression and i find it dosent really work for the itching. If anything I found when i went off the valtrex for a month the itching stopped but i had a constant outbreak for a month. guess you need to pick and choose.

Thanks for all the input and advice. I actually decided to do the suppressive with valtrex for a couple of months and see what that does for the itching. I am thinking that probably a cream would be better, though, for the itching. I also think that the heat maybe has something to do with it and douching with a vinegar and water douche to keep the proper ph may help. Could be worse though, right guys!?

what about on the outside, is outside itching occur, i mean normal. i have that, the itching on the inside is gone, and i had redness, but some of that pain was from having bacterial vaginosis, that has been treated, but still suffering from it being senstive during intercouse, pressure above pelvic region (like right on cervix), aches pains..

what i have found works for me is using tea tree oil and an aloe vera/tea tree oil/witch hazel gel that i use sometimes for the inflammation.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us

To give everyone confidence that it wasn’t herpes related and conclude as the doctor did that it was a dermatitis issue to refer back to the dermatologist to continue with investigations.

Both a dermatologist and infectious disease doctor prescribed him HSV medicine. Why would they do that if this isnt "what herpes really does"?
