What's going on?

I was feeling 99% better then last night everything down there started itching again. It felt like i had a yeast infection coming on plus hemorrhoid trouble YAY!! Could it be because I had two and a half diet pepsies yesterday? I was only drinking enough to take the edge off of my caffiene addiction, but I guess I was feeling normal yesterday and was drinking more. The itching had me up all night......

My doc gave me a RX for famvir which nipped the first OB right in the bud. Should I take this again already or should I wait and see if it gets any worse? I going to try really hard not to drink anymore pop but I get the WORST headaches without it. Also last night when I was trying to sleep it felt like my nerves on the right lower body were going haywire....like restless leg syndrome times 100. I drank a lot of water last night and am drinking some lemon water right now trying to neutralize that acid. Would you take more meds already or not? My daughter's birthday party is in two days and I want to be feeling good for that!!

thanks..

I'm just not sure if this is going to be a full-blown OB or not. I feel a bit better this morning. I would like to get my immune system working against these buggers and not over-medicate....but I'm still confused about this whole deal.

I can understand (finally) what you mean about letting your body fight the virus without the suppressive meds. Of course, when I was first diagnosed my doc only said, if you have lots of OBs I will prescribe meds, but he did not explain why and I was clueless as to even ask why. Anyway, thanks to this forum and the knowledgable members, I am learning about the reasons for not using suppressive meds. However, on the other hand, the way my crotch feels today, I would love to OD on the shit!!!! This is just the pits.

Oh I'm definitely having caffeine withdrawals....ask anyone who tries to talk to me! LOL My girl parts feel a lot better today, I don't know why they were so itchy last night. I shaved a lot today too so I feel better about myself...I HATE body hair! So I waited until the scabs were gone and the skin felt normal again to shave. I still didn't get down to the skin where the sores were because I'm too paranoid about maybe spreading it around, so I was really careful. I just would like to know if I'm getting an OB or not, like what it will feel like. Since I'm still probably getting over this first one I wasn't sure if the itchies were from the old one or from a new one coming on. Plus maybe it was all the nice cold pop I was drinking yesterday that made me feel that way. I baragained with God that I wouldn't open a new pop at all today if I could be spared another OB so soon LOL!!

it's a fallacy

that when you are on suppressive meds to think that your body STOPS fighting the virus. I know a lot of people really think that but rest assured your body will still learn to fight H despite suppressive medication. If you stop suppressive meds, you will return to your regular outbreak cycle.

However, there are good reasons not to be on them if you don't need to:

1. save money - except if you are spending a gazillion on alternative remedies; people love giving their money to "alternative" remedies but not big pharma thinking that alternative is always better. It can be better, but sometimes it is unsafe or just phooey. There are a couple of things I've read on this forum that maybe in small doses are OK but could really be harmful if people don't know what they are doing (Oxygen therapy for example - people have died - the body needs the right balance - too little and it can affect your immune system but too much and you start killing your healthy cells). The active ingredients in herbs are chemicals, too, and can have side-effects just like prescription medication.

2. Possible side-effects

2. Your body (kidneys, etc) have to clear the meds so it is an extra load on your body.

Thanks thiscantbe! The main reason that I don't want to go on suppressive therapy right away is because I want to see if it's necessary first. I have hsv1 so from what I understand some people aren't bothered too terribly by it (please oh please be me). The dr agreed with me that for now we should treat it OB by OB. Plus a lot of those drugs haven't been around long enough to give an idea of what the long term effects will be on our kidneys and livers.

At the same time, I am worried that any little imaginary twitch will make me want to take the meds when maybe it's just a normal ass itch that everyone gets now and then...know what I mean? I'm a tightwad....I don't want to pay for drugs and take them if I don't really need them.

I know where you are coming from with the twitches!

H makes me so paranoid now! And read the forums... a lot of us are! Every twitch and itch and tingle makes us afraid it's coming back.

Hopefully you will be lucky with your type 1 - statistics are in your favor at least! I also think it's a good idea to wait and see with the drugs cause I am a cheapskate - ummm I mean frugal - LOL - too:)

Also, for your caffeine dependency, maybe you can try tapering off slowly until you just have a little (or if you really have gumption quit!)?? Withdrawal can be a bear...

https://imgur.com/a/cVi8yJY 2 weeks ago I had unprotected oral sex. Few days later I wake up with a stinging sensation in my urethra. I don't have any blisters, lesions or redness, my penis looks completely normal from the outside, but the stinging in my urethra is always there. Urinating doesn't make the pain worse. From the research I've done and how my body feels I'm pretty sure I caught genital hsv1. To make matters worse I think I transmitted it to my eyelid by touching my infected penis and then my eyelid which did develop a blister. Can anyone look at my lower eyelid and tell me if it looks anything like herpes?  I forgot to add that the blister is painless, but my eye is a bit watery. Other than that it's fine and my eyesight is good. Considering how this all developed in a matter of a week after I had unprotected sex it can't be much else than herpes..

Hey I see that they also sell the pill form in 100 mg and 500 mg form. Do you think this is as affective? They have the regular and extract version of the pill. Which would you think is the right one to get? And how many pills per day to get the same effect of say 16 seeds?

I had an IGG test  and the ranges were out of range and high  HSV 1 was 42 and HSV 2 was 19 so I guess it was accurate but the problem now is I can't figure out when or who I got it from. In 2018 to 2019 when I was with my ex I was STD tested but not sure if herpes was included but my ex was supposed to get tested but refused. I experienced some trauma with him and didn't date until a year and a half later so I'm confused. The guy I dated after the ex who didn't want to be tested I told them a week ago about my results he was trying to be there for me and understanding,I told him to get tested but to request a herpes blood test , because he had no noticeable lesions or bumps ever is what he said and I never noticed any on him now he has shut down all his social media and I can't reach him. Hoping he's okay, I feel bad because in 2018 I did have what I was told it was an abrasion that tingled but at my doctor the day I was tested they told me it wasn't herpes but I think it was only a visible diagnosis. I keep having it reoccur from time to time

Hello "FeelingLost".... your fears and concerns are understandable but, nothing you've described regarding the sexual encounter would cause you to contract herpes.... further, your symptoms are not herpes related.  Best of all, your doctor is correct, your results don't show any herpes here.  You can relax.... definitely have your GP take a look at things and see what might be causing the symptoms but, again, none of them are typical herpes related.  I wish you the best in terms of talking to your wife about this encounter.... hopefully she will understand and you both can work through this amicably.  We all make mistakes.... be careful not to beat yourself up too hard over this.... you can become so racked with guilt that you start imagining physical symptoms.  Best of luck.... and take care..... come back to the site if you have questions.
