Hello im ttrying to gain knowledge on herpes type 1. ive heard from statistics that 50%-80% of people have been exposed to this virus and its not even considered an std. I also know that this is a permanent viral infection and it can be transfered to the genitals. however when the hsv1 virus is transfered to the genitals would u have reocurance of breakouts on the genitals or just the first one then on the mouth. also if i had an hsv1 cold soar on my lip and lets say some of the virus got transfered to an open pimple or somthing on my forehead. would i have future breakouts on my forehead of hsv1?

Also ive found a website that says that when oral herpes hsv 1 is contracted on the genitals there will be an average of about 1 reocurant outbreak a year or even less and that it is not a big deal at all. is this true? Have any of u contracted hsv 1 on ure genitals?

I'm 99% sure that I have genital HSV1. I found out I had HSV when I was 21 (I'm 29 now) but I never found out what kind...

I'm only speculating... but because I only get super mild outbreaks and very infrequently.... thats one reason...

But this could just be because I have an extremely healthy diet/no stress/workout a lot, etc.

The other reason I think that mine is HSV1 is that I can't for the LIFE of me figure out how I got it.

I had been dating a girl faithfully for 2 years and then one day I had an outbreak... I know people say that you can have it for years and not know it, but I'm sure this was my first outbreak cause I would have noticed something like that.. and also I KNOW that 99% of the time if you are infected you have an OB like 2 days later...

Anyway...

After years of thinking about it off and on, and researching..

I'm pretty sure that I probably gave it to myself. I thought I had never had a cold sore because I thought of cold sores as these BIG ugly lesions that I saw on some people...

I NEVER had anything like that, but like most teenagers I had mild acne here and there, and sometimes I would get zits right on the edge of my lip... They were so small and so tiny that I didn't think they were cold sores because my image of a cold sore was the big honkin lesions that some people got..

Anyway... I think I probably picked at what I thought was a pimple but was a HSV blister and then transferred it to myself from masturbating.

Just a theory though...

Of course this begs the question... Some people hate the person who gave it to them.... Should I hate myself? lol...

:lol::lol:

well thats kinda reassuring. this was my first sexual experence and i read that herpes soars are vivsible when ure erect or not. also i have been more stressed now than ever in my life. ive been so paranoid and its caused my facial acne to breakout quite a bit but i have no other breakout downtown. i am very physicicly active. (tennis, weightlifting, track) but i probobly have the worst diet ever. I have a feeling that im safe but i dont wanna transfer the coldsoar onmy mouth to my penis or my eyes or anything like that.

I'd be careful...

Try not to pick at your face etc.

Wash your hands before you wack-off.

Frequent hand-washing is just an all around great habit to get in anyway, as is keeping your hands away from your nose eyes and mouth.

You'll get WAY less colds/flu also by getting in the habit of washing hands/keeping hands away from face...

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
