He's worried he can get it through oral sex when I only have it genitally

After telling a potential new partner that I have hsv-2 (genital only), he gives it some thought, does some research, and decides he's not comfortable with the risk. That's fine, I understand, joking say I can still give him oral sex. He asks about those risks and I say literally impossible, since I do not have it orally, and transmission requires contact with affected areas. So we actually agree on this and then this morning he texts that after sleeping on it he's just not comfortable with the "what if" even after reading on the relative safety. I kinda want to scream lol. "Relative safety" is applicable if we were having sex. It doesn't apply to something that's literally impossible!!!

So basically...is anyone aware of articles or websites that spell this out in black and white? That I cannot spread my genital hsv through a blowjob?

Hey ash welcome. You are correct he cannot get ur genital herps though a "blowjob" . We have some great information www.westoverheights.com and in our lovely library located Top of this forum pages titled "Our Network" please have read up on this herpes argument.

I have to ask if he himself has ever properly tested to know for absolute SURE he doesn't already carry this virus in some form or another? Ask him if he has ever gotten cold sores or fever blisters That is Oral h1. Ask him if he has ever had chicken pox or mono that too is in the Herpes Family :) . Let us know if he has tested, then if he hasn't request he get tested so if he should come down with herpes he cannot come back and say "you gave me this" many do. Hugs Aces :)

Perfect. The herpes handbook specifically says something about "a man can have herpes on his penis, and still safely give his partner oral sex." That's exactly what I was looking for!

Any guys in Dallas with HSV? Would love to connect with someone since I’m new to the condition.

I get a generic 3 month supply of valtrex in the US for about $50...that’s one pill a day at 1000mg a pill.

Makes complete sense to me.  My mother never exhibited HSV1, but never exhibited.  I am all for whatever it takes!

I’ve been seeing this guy for two months now. I’ve had hsv2 down there for 3 years...never have I spread it to anyway, and had a relationship of a year and had sex with the same guy the whole year. So, when I started seeing this guy, I told him up front about it. Told him it really isn’t a huge deal and I’ve bever passed it but there’s a small risk. So 5 weeks in, we’ve had sex a few times and 17days after we had protected sex (I’m also on daily antiviral pills) he texts me saying he can’t pee because it is so painful. I am so depressed I passed it to him. I know he agreed to the risk, but neither of us actually “thought” i would pass it, if that makes sense. Always a risk, I know, and as I said, he agreed. But he is upset now. In denial and went almost a full week unable to urinate because he was in such bad pain. He did have a blister show up around Day 6 of the peein problem so it’s def herpes. Unsure what to say to him. I feel terrible for bringing that upon him. Anyone have similar situations? Also haven’t talked in a few days. Giving him time before trying to start a convo. I’m sure he doesn’t want to talk right now.
