Genital sores at same time as boil?

Hi, I have so many issues that I'm so confused and stuck. Reading the Internet has me diagnosing myself with type 2 herpes. I had unprotected sex in February one time and for other reasons I'm no longer speaking to that person. Almost 2 weeks ago I had a boil between my buttocks that is now draining and going down but in the beginning it was extremely painful. However, at the same time I got the boil I also had 2 small open sores on my labia. Just yesterday the sores blistered up and one of them is continually bleeding. This makes me believe that I have genital herpes. I had no other symptoms since that encounter in February and it is now June. I've had no flu like symptoms but my lymph nodes in my groin did swell but they go down quickly. Also, I don't know how related this is but I've always had a problem with ingrown hairs on my pubic area since I've started shaving. Sometimes I'm able to pull them out and sometimes they go away on their own and sometimes they've been infected. I'm not sure if I've always had herpes symptoms or if this is more recent. Any insight would be great. Thank you

You can ask this question to 100 people and get 100 different answers. You will only know for certain if you go to a medical professional and get tested.

I have been coming to this website daily for almost 6 years and I wish I had a $ for every person I met here who was POSITIVE they had herpes and later found out they did not.

Herpes sores shouldn't bleed so personally I don't think what you have is herpes. But I am no doctor, so please go get tested.

Good luck!

JB

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
