Struggling with recent diagnosis

I am 20 years old and have recently been struggling with my new diagnosis. I am not sure if anyone else experienced this, but I visited the ER for my first outbreak, where they told me I have herpes. However they did not take a blood test so I have an upcoming appointment on tuesday to confirm( I am pretty sure I have it), but they only prescribed the acyclovir(nothing for the pain), which helped a little this morning it seemed and now it seems as though it is not helping towards the end of my day. What I am having problems with the most right now is how do you deal with the pain of not being able to move, or walk? I am a server where you wear black Dickie pants, so I had to call off and bring a doctors note saying I could not work, because ten minutes I had them on and I was in severe pain. I have not worm anything but dresses and gone commando in my house and not left my house except for my script. Before I had started my outbreak, I had just shaved down there, and I believe I nicked myself. now my hair is growing back and it is making everything soo muchmore unbearable, WHAT CAN I DO?

In addition to the physical I am mentally struggling, which for me is not good at all because I already have depression, ptsd, anxiety. Not thinking about it, my bf and I had been intimate that same night I had just shaved. Now he does not have genital herpes, but I remebered when my outbreak started that he had a cold sore. At the some time though, I was also assaulted over a year ago, no protection just after care, however i found herpes not to be included in that spectrum. I am worried my bf is blaming himself, because it could be him, but it could be anything. He does not know how to help with my pain. I am paranoid and anxious about the whole thing. Is it possible it could have been my rape from over a year ago, or my bf's cold sore while giving me oral..? This is soo uncomfortable to talk about, and I am trying to stay positive, but I honestly havent felt more discouraged now than i have in a long time. My bf is sticking by me, but he is struggling to cope, he wont say it because he see I am already in so much pain, but I know. Just help, please. I will be honest, I used to self injure and I have not wanted to since my assault until now, I dont know if it is the emotional pain or the physical pain or both, but I need some support.

Don't be scared. The first outbreak is usually the most severe because your body has no antibodies. In time you will have much less outbreaks in quantity and severity.

Herpes is usually just a minor nuissance.

Also: you say your bf has no genital herpes but how do you know that? Most people are asymptomatic carriers. He could still pass the virus in that condition.

Hun I am so sorry that you ate going through! I know the wealth of emotions that follow after a diagnosis. You said your bf had a cold sore and performed oral on you so if it is H, it's possibly he is the giver. My understanding is the first is generally the worst so hopfully that holds true for you. To minimize the pain try soaking in a tub of Epsom Salt. I pray it gets better for you!!!

Do you have h1 or h2 if you have h1 that points to your boyfriend because u get that orally... But go to doctor and make your boyfriend and you take test to verify what type u have* and herpes ismt end of world if your well educated ..u find 90 percent of answers here and sorry about your rape and all bs you gone thru ...if I can help u with anything message me and good luck hunn

Ccicerchis, sorry to hear you are having such a tough time. There are a lot of emotions at first, but once you educate yourself on how to live with this virus, things will settle down a bit. Can you substitute a black skirt instead of pants for work? Or try a pair of dress pants instead of the Dickies; they won't be as tight. If your employer gets suspicious, tell them you have a yeast infection and need to wear loose clothing. Hope this helps.

This does suck really hard but read around here and it seems like the initial adjustments are the toughest. I found some numbing spray that hurts like hell going on but gives relief later. In the us called dermaplast. Desitin or a thick zinc Creme helped too. Epsom salt soaks also helped. Ibuphrophen also does help. And Xanax for anxiety. I know I could barely sit down. Also do you take the acylovir 2x daily?

Yeah I guess its easier to talk about it then to deal with it. I never thought I would end up with it, then again I dont think anybody does. I guess there is just more fear than anything.

Well you've found the right place for all your answers and support! Browse the forums and educate yourself it will make you feel better and more empowered. In time you will notice your triggers, certain foods, stress, not enough sleep that will bring on OB (Outbreaks) and will be able to manage your health better.

For pain I recently learned that Vitamin B12 liquid really helps. I tried it and it worked for me too. I bought the organic vegan B12 from Kind Organics and used 3 sprays 2x a day or 1,50mcg 2xday. It really attenuated the pain and in a little over a week it was completely gone. Now I was having asymptomatic pain - phantom nerve pain left behind after an outbreak has healed - so I havent tried it while an outbreak but it can only help!

Your bf may have given you hsv-1, since he has cold sores. The best thing to do is to have the IGg blood test done to see which type u have and for your bf to have the test done as well... N well, unfortunately, since it wasn't included last time, you really wouldn't know when u got it... keep reading about it... You'll learn it isn't as bad... Keep us posted on your blood test results
