Help!

hello! I always diagnosed with hsv1 in January . I'm taking it pretty well. I love my boyfriend ( also the man who gave it to me) and he is supportive. He's had cold sores for years and didn't realize he could give it to me whilst we were having oral sex. Anyways, the outbreaks have been severe and so often that my nurse practitioner finally put me on a suppressive rather than just when I get outbreaks. It's been over a month and so far no outbreaks. Thank God!!

But... Since I've been taking Valtrax I've been getting severe yeast infections. Has this happened to anyone else? It's almost as bad as an outbreak. And I won't lie I'm terrible with itching so I may be making it worse. Any advise?

Thank you all! I'm so glad that I've found this site because it has been helping the past couple months reading everyone else's experiences!!

Hi! Yogurt is supposed to help with yeast infections. It helps restore your natural Ph. Eat a little bit of the plain kind (unsweetened and unflavored) daily. I hope this helps :)

Hi Sailor, yep that happened to me. At first, I was taking the antivirals only when I had outbreaks. But when I started taking them daily, I was getting recurring yeast infections. I stopped taking the antivirals and felt a lot better. You might want to try a different antiviral. It might work without the side effects.

I'm going to try! Thanks I went and got probiotics today.

Any advice on the cuts? I have one that's so big now due to itching. I feel like my vagina is going to fall off.

Walking hurts, sitting hurts... Anything just hurts now! I need this to end! I just want to feel normal!!

Have you tried an Epsom salt bath? I was doing them for ten minutes in the morning and evening until things calmed down. It helps to heal cuts and infections- also it's really soothing.

I would do a 7-day OTC treatment like Monistat and ask the nurse about a Diflucan (pill) rx. Don't use a 1-day or 3-day treatment because they are a lot stronger and will hurt like heck. IME- the problem w/ a YI is that you can treat it enough to alleviate the symptoms and think it's over - but the remaining fungal cells multiply and you get another infection. Once a YI infection catches hold it can hang around for a while. That's why I think the 7 day treatments plus a diflucan tablet are a better option- even if it seems like a lot of meds. That's what worked for me.

As for the pain - see if you can get a lidocaine ointment - my dr gave me the one she used during my exam - but you can buy lidocaine products in the first aid section. Dermaplast spray is OK to use on the perineal area - many people use it after giving birth. It will numb you. Also - you can soak a maxi pad (the padded kind - not the extra thin types - works the best, or use gauze or flannel, or large cotton puff or even a washcloth) in witch hazel or just plain water if the witch hazel stings and chill it in the freezer or fridge and wear it for a while. It helps.

Also - fill a squirt bottle with warm water - and use it while urinating to avoid stinging.

Feel better soon

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
