A doctoral thesis by Dr. Persson, from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, looks at immunization approaches (needle or nasal) and two other things that I can't make heads or tails of for tackling genital herpes.

1) I was wondering if anyone knows why, to the best of my knowledge, nasal methods of a HSV vaccine haven't been looked at? Would it make a difference in results; is there minimal research available, leading to it not being considered; etc?

2) Would someone be able to translate (from science to layman) the other two points the thesis makes? Something about "Nasal and skin immunization with recombinant HSV-2 gD antigen in combination with the clinically tested adjuvant IC31® was highly efficient for induction of specific B and T cell responses and protection against primary genital herpes in mice" and "Identification of local inflammatory imprints connected to immune cell recruitment after vaginal immunization with live attenuated HSV-2 in mice."

Well if it had to be in layman terms I guess I would say for the first part of your #2 is that it creates a immune response & offers protection and the second part of your #2 would be stating where inflammation happens because of the vaccine.

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.
