How discouraging! 2nd outbreak so soon?

I am really trying not to let this get to me too much but, I can't help it.I feel so discouraged now.

I had my first ever (that I was aware of) herpes outbreak almost a month ago now.It was just a tiny little blistery legion near my anus.

I had that swabbed and learned I had hsv2.I immediately started taking antivirals and then also took a blood test, because I wanted to see if this was a new or old infection.

I was very surprised to learn that my blood test revealed that I already had a pretty high value of antibodies in my blood (9.05) so I knew that doesn't say that much about when I got it but, I convinced myself that I must have had this for alot longer than just a month or 2 so I figured I probably wouldn't have too many frequent outbreaks.

Well I was wrong.

I shaved for the first time since my first outbreak on Saturday and then on Sunday I noticed a few dots that looked like razor bumps.

But today, I'm pretty sure that they're not razor bumps.I think I'm having another outbreak . There's like 20-30 pimple looking things all over my butt cheeks.

I am so sad!

I'm not sure now if I'm imagining things but did I read somewhere that after the first outbreak, alot of people have a 2nd outbreak right away? Is that common? Or am I imagining that?

Or maybe I just triggered this from shaving? I hate this.I hate not being able to shave too.

Thanks blue.It was a brand new razor and it was the first time I shaved in over a month because u was so scared that this would happen.

I guess what I'm wondering is - is it common to experience a 2nd outbreak right after the the first?

New here. Shaving. Oh the shaving. I used to like being close, baby smooth. Not anymore. I now use Remington Smooth and Silky battery operated razor. Not smooth..but pretty damn close. Try it and see if you like it. Really cheap also!

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
