Disaster

I can just feel what's coming. My western blot will return in a week or two. A year ago I had vaginal and oral sex twice in with this man in the span of a month. I hadn't had sex for nine months before this and haven't been with anyone since then. Before this encounter, I tested negative for hsv 2 by herpeselect at 0.11. He busts out with a big cold sore two days after the oral sex which he'd had for years but also never mentioned. I've tested positive for hsv 1, assumed oral, years before. This partner I was with removed the condom without telling me, who knows if it would have made a difference anyway which results in an ectopic pregnancy, despite plan b, lots of emotional distress, and now I think hsv 2. I asked him to go get a type specific test for hsv 2 which he did a year ago. It was negative, however, as I've been investigating this more, it wasn't really negative. It was a low positive, was sent to focus diagnostics, which returned a negative so they didn't do an inhibition assay. I only had sex with him a second time because I believe that his test was negative. I argued with the doctor who ordered this test a year later that this was not actually negative and that they should have investigated more. I had to be on antibiotics due to the ectopic pregnancy and wear a pad for an extended about of time because of the bleeding. I developed a yeast infection which i attributed to the pad, moisture, and antibiotics. Saw a nurse practitioner who said yeast. Saw one small pustule on labia majora which I assumed was yeast infection related. No symptoms in between, and almost a year to the day later, I see another white pustule which makes me question everything. I get tested again: 0.21, I test again 0.21. Ask the man to get tested 0.4. He says he's never had any symptoms for all the good that does me. I can see where this is headed. And, imagine if I hadn't researched all this, i would assume it was nothing, and I am due to get married; not to the same man. My fiance will absolutely not accept this. This is heart wrenching. I am only stable because God is holding me up. There is no one here to blame, I don't know why this is happening, but I am absolutely humbled and feel small.

Also, before I had had sex with this man, I had prayed and decided that I was no longer going to have sex with anyone. I pleaded with God that I did not have herpes, not for any obvious reasons just that I knew it could be asymptomatic, when I got that original 0.11 result and was so happy. I thought I could start a new. I don't believe in a vengeful God, but if this isn't a way of him speaking with me, I don't know what is.

It is not possible you have HSV-2. I take it the test for you was more than 12 weeks after the sex with this person? If so that is a clear negative, one that will not be 'overturned' by a Westernblot.

If the partner's IgG result for HSV-2 was 0.4 then that is also a clear negative. There is hence no source of HSV-2.

WilsoInAus, thanks you so much for responding. I went to the emergency room last night as I thought I was having some disseminated hsv 2 outbreak. My hands and feet have been tingling, crawling, and hot for the past few days with a few diffuse red bumps spread over my hands. I thought it was mosquitoes or something. Yesterday, I realized my hands were clammy, swollen, and had developed a lacy rash (white and red), that the rash was also on my thighs, and my vagina. My vagina was swollen. I had a unusually amount of discharge and my vagina also seemed clammy. This all happened very quickly as I would have noticed it before as I have been compulsively checking my vagina for any changes as I am not sure if I have hsv 2 yet, though I really do think so. I saw one red spot on my hip, small, that definitely stung to touch and that has now healed over with a honey colored look. I had a few more red dots develop on my knees and on my ankle. Also on my hands I had verysmall pin prick sized dots that stung, as if they were open, to touch. All these spots had a very quick onset. I had the same pin prick dots whichstung on my right arm, and one on my chest, and on my abdomen. my cheeks feel hot and I have the same small dots and maybe almost cuts on both cheeks. My mouth is also tingling and hot with definite inflammation, an abrasion on the inside upper lip and the skin in various places of my lip looks like it wants to blister. My eyes feel inflamed, blood shot, and I had a white mucous coming from thecorners. I have tinnitus and feel hot all over, no fever. My stomach hurts. General malaise. The doctors refused to believe me. They thought I had a vitamin deficiency as I had told them I had lost a lot of weight over the past months (purposefully), hadn’t had my period one month. I told them this so that they would understand that I think I am immunodeficient. My hsv 2 igg is 0.21 a year from last sexual encounter, but this year I saw a white pus filled blister on my vagina. I went to an urgent care this morning andjust told them I was having a primary hsv 1 outbreak so they would at least give me some acyclovir. I think it is helping as nothing is getting worse sofar. I don’t know what to do. Also, if I have spread this all over my body, how will I not pass this on to everyone in sight, or ever have a child, or hold my child's hand? Also, i've testedpositive for hsv 1 before, assumedoral, so could I have both hsv 1 and hsv 2 on my face now? I know that is unlikely but there is something very weird going on with me. I think I literally manifested herpes by being so anxious for my western blot to return and then not only was I coming to terms with having hsv 2 genitally but now I really think I've done anumber on my whole body. Does any one have hsv 1 and hsv 2 orally or facially? The only thinks that I found that sound close to my symptoms are parovirus b19 or herpes zoster and those are both so related to simplex, that with the white pus blister, and now all this weirdness, I think I'vereally done it. Anyone experience this or know what is going on?

I've seen so many people on here who have swab tested positive for herpes and then have had an igg around 0.22 or so. Or, who have an outbreak, never have it seabbed, and then pass it on to some one else as there blood test was negative. The answer about there western blots are never pursued. I hope it's negative, but I'm having a strong feeling it won't be.

That is not correct that people test negative more than 12 weeks after a positive swab. If you have a blood test at the same time as the swab upon infection, then the result will be negative given the timeframe required for IgG antibodies to appear.

White pus is a sure sign that it is not a herpes lesion.

What you are experiencing really has nothing much to do with your HSV-1 infection. You do not need antivirals so steer clear of those.

Your Westernblot will be negative for HSV-2.

I doubt your immune system is compromised. An infection with HSV-2 will not cause you much physical distress given your existing HSV antibodies.

I guess pustule could be misleading. It was white but not as thick as pus, but not completely liquid. The blister was also very fragile and superficial. I've seen so many people describe their outbreaks like this.

Hi @Anxious 1234 Did you get diagnosis for this?

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Well thank you I appreciate it

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
