How soon after contact do you have your first OB? (Personal situation inside)

So here's part of my story. Last March, I was date-raped by someone who didn't use protection, and I hadn't had sex since then until the weekend before last using a condom. Then last Wednesday, I conveniently already had an appointment with a gynecologist, was going to get a pap and tested but she found out my IUD was out of place and ended up removing it after some incredibly painful attempts at salvaging it. Then I found out they didn't accept my health insurance anymore, so I went home without getting tested and with an antibiotic for all of the maneuvering they did down there and got the depo shot. Anyways, that Friday, I had a couple bumps pop up, really itchy - felt like a bruise someone was pressing on, it got worse and more bumps emerged, until it hurt constantly, worse when I walked, so on and so forth. I called my doctor Monday and she squeezed me in, and she said it looks like herpes. Still waiting for the test results, but it's pretty certain...

On to my question, could this have come from being date-raped months ago, and just now manifested from all of the irritation that came from my doctor trying to reposition my IUD, or is it more likely from the protected sex I had less than a week before the outbreak started?

Usually, if you get symptoms of herpes, it appears 2-10 days after infection. This is not a hard and fast rule, however. A lot of people are asymptomatic for a long time, and may flare up in times of stress or something. Nonetheless, in this case, I would agree with WilsonInAus.

I would encourage your partner to get tested.

I do not know when I acquired this... Got tested last Dec... Positivite for Hsv-2... I've been in my current relationship for 5 years. He tested negative. So I've had it for 5+ years and did not know... Unless u specifically asked for this test before, u would know... I'm guessing u didn't get tested after you were raped? Did u test before/ after relationships? Since your doctor was removing your IUD, it created stress, therefore u having your first recognizable outbreak..... If the doctor did IGg blood test and they find antibodies... 50% of People test positive after 3 weeks after infection, 70% of people test positive 6 wks after infection, almost everyone who's infected will test positive 16wks after infection (Terri Warren, The Good News about the bad news p 57). I thought I my STDs testing included everything... I was wrong... I also assumed that if u had herpes, u would know....

Thanks for the info. I should've gotten tested after I was raped, but I was too ashamed of myself. I got divorced last year, and I've had a string of bad relationships since, so I don't know who I got it from if that's the case. The guy who I had sex with last was such a mistake too, because he hasn't even contacted me since. My blood work came back negative for everything, but I'll know the results from the culture tomorrow.

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
