I was tested for herpes about 4 months ago came back negative. Doctor said that the culture might come back negative because it was already scabbing over. And it did come back negative. But than my girlfriend went to planned parent hood and they said hers was indeed herpes. Genital herpes to be exact. I feel so guilty and believe I have anxiety and a lot of stress. Because I have a 7 month old. Thank god the doctor said she was 100 percent healthy. But I still worry because although I have had only one recurrence. And it literally came and went well at least the burning in a matter of a day or 2. I am having muscle fatigue. Meaning when I lift certain things even my cell phone it feels like I'm getting a good burn in my arms from a work out. It scares me. Ever since this has happened to me ive felt guilty and search every little thing that happens to me or my body. I hope that my muscle aches or fatigue is just because of the herpes. And not HIV that is the biggest fear of my life. I did a rapid test 3 weeks post possible exposure came back negative than I did a oraquick test 9 or 10 weeks and it came back negative I hope it was accurate. But in my mind I belive I have it. The only thing that helps kind of believe I don't is because my gf has had one recurrence and no other symptoms besides the usual burning when pee and lesions inside her vagina. But for me it seems I'm the one going crazy about it and making myself feel worse and getting all these symptoms. I hope for my family's sake my arm issue is just anxiety or due to genital herpes. By the way my first outbreak was at the shafts and really burned one day because it broke than I had no issues. Now it's on my inner thigh and I belive is almost gone after the 4th day. This place seems very helpful and might put my mind at ease. I wpull totally love feed back please. Especially if anybody felt aches in they're arms or fatigue in the arms. Thank u. And I'll try to keep my head up.

Were you diagnosed with genital herpes? Did they take a swab? Have you had a blood test?

Regardless, your arm issue has absolutely nothing to do with herpes, genital or otherwise!

Hmm it started when I found out I was having recurrence. Because prior to the 2nd outbreak I had nothing wrong with my arms. Maybe I freaked myself out and caused major stress and anxiety . I was swabbed recently for herpes. But the first initial test was at a emergency room where they came back negative.

Oh and no blood test just rapid test for hiv.

Would hiv be the reason for my arm fatigue issue? Even tho I got a negative test. And this appeared to pop up during my OB?

No HIV does not cause such a specific fatigue and usually doesn't cause many if any issues for a decade after infection.

Then you do not have a genital herpes diagnosis at this stage.

How was your partner diagnosed with herpes? What was the result of her blood test?

Do you know the results? Was it an IgG type specific for HSV-1 and HSV-2? What were the numerical results?

Not even sure but it was in her vaginal area. Right now we are still together enjoying life but she doesn't like me bringing it up since I gave it to her.

I think that is a good outcome, there is no need for HSV to play any real role in the lives of a couple.

I do not see that there is any conclusive evidence that either you or partner actually have HSV let alone be able to suggest one particular party brought it to the relationship.

Thanks so much for ur input maybe I can wake up tomorrow without this arm fatigue. I'm guessing I might be putting on myself. Ive just been scared and worries about hiv. Even tho I got a negative result on the home kit oraquick. At 10 weeks. They tell me it's 99.6 percent correct.

Where would HIV come from? It doesn't cause the sort of symptoms you are describing. The HIV test is the most accurate for any disease!

      Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

      Hey @WilsoInAus miałam dzisiaj wizytę u dermatologa, gdyż dostałam zmian w pachwinie, w trakcie wakacji nad morzem. Udałam sie tam ze zmianami w postaci strupów. Powiedział ze nie można wykluczyć opryszczki mimo negatywnego wyniku Hsv igg i zalecił wymaz z pochwy na Hsv i inne choroby.       Never had a history of Oral cold sores before, but have dated someone with them.  Thats very interesting about the test. This was my first full panel.  The large bumps have recently show up, its been about a few weeks when I noticed them. Again no pain nor fluids from them.
