There is no way to really tell when you are contagious and even if you were contagious there is no expectation that they will automatically get it from you.

You have seen the statistics which show that this virus isn't that easy to spread. However, there is a risk, even if it is quite small, that you will transmit it any time you have sex. It is up to your partner to decide if they want to accept this risk.

There are things you can do to limit the risk, like taking antivirals and using protection and not having contact when you have any symptoms, but there will always be a risk. If your partner accepts this risk then do all you can about it and enjoy being in the relationship.

Good luck!

JB

Well we were condoms now but we did not a year ago. I am also on anti virals. Also I don't know if the sore is a scar now from my OB or what because there is a red spot but it isn't s bump and doesn't hurt. I am going to the doc tomorrow. If it isn't so easy to spread then how come so many people hAve it? How did I even get it. I had cut myself shaving and I think that's how it gone in

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
